Security – CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke seeks removal of PSI from home duty

Security –Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) convenor Abhijeet Dipke has objected to the conduct of a police sub-inspector assigned to security duty outside his residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, alleging that the officer was stopping visitors from meeting him. Dipke has asked senior police officials to remove the officer from the security arrangement at his home in the Waluj MIDC area.

Dipke questions officer’s conduct

Dipke, who has been provided police protection following reported threats and concerns over crowds gathering at his residence, alleged that the PSI was behaving rudely with people arriving to meet him. He also claimed that the officer was attempting to keep track of visitors entering the house.

Videos of Dipke confronting the police officer and speaking to a senior official over the phone circulated widely on social media on Friday. In one recording, Dipke is seen questioning the PSI, who was dressed in civilian clothes, about why visitors were being stopped despite his own permission for them to enter the residence.

The CJP founder questioned the officer’s authority to decide whom he could meet and objected to what he described as unnecessary restrictions at his home. He also asked the PSI, whom he identified as Suresh, to leave the premises.

Request made to senior police official

In another video, Dipke can be heard speaking to a senior police officer on the phone and raising a complaint about the PSI’s behaviour.

He alleged that the officer was asking people who came to meet him to leave and said he did not want the PSI to continue as part of the security team stationed at his residence. Dipke also questioned whether the restrictions were being imposed deliberately.

The videos do not independently establish the allegations made by Dipke, and the reasons behind the officer’s actions were not immediately available.

CID personnel also alleged to be nearby

During the phone conversation, Dipke additionally claimed that personnel from the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had been seen near his residence while dressed in plain clothes.

According to his allegation, a reporter informed him that some people believed to be CID personnel were present near the house. Dipke said police personnel initially attempted to move them away, but they allegedly identified themselves as members of the CID.

He further claimed that the reporter had noticed a WhatsApp group titled “Hit Spray” on the phone of one of the alleged CID personnel. Dipke said he was told that reports concerning activity around his residence were being shared through the group.

These claims could not be independently verified at the time of reporting.

Police response awaited

Dipke’s residence in the Waluj MIDC area has been placed under police security following threats and the need to manage the number of people visiting him. The reported dispute concerns the conduct of one officer assigned to that security arrangement.

Efforts were made to obtain a response from Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Atulkar, whose jurisdiction includes the Waluj MIDC area. However, he was not available for comment on Dipke’s allegations.

No official clarification regarding the PSI’s conduct or the alleged presence of CID personnel near Dipke’s residence was available when the reports surfaced.
