Odisha – President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday conveyed her greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Odisha Day, acknowledging the state’s enduring cultural legacy and its growing contribution to India’s development journey.

Observed every year on April 1, Odisha Day, also known as Utkal Divas, marks the creation of Odisha as a separate province in 1936. The formation was a milestone in India’s administrative history, as it was one of the first regions established on the basis of linguistic identity. The day serves as a reminder of the efforts of leaders and citizens who advocated for recognition of the Odia language and cultural identity.
