Hospital Visit After Blood Pressure Fluctuation

According to Misa Bharti, the 79-year-old former Bihar Chief Minister was taken to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna after his blood pressure increased unexpectedly on Friday night. Doctors carried out a thorough medical evaluation and kept him under observation before allowing him to return home once his condition improved.

She informed reporters that doctors have advised him to take adequate rest before travelling to Delhi, where he has been receiving specialised treatment for several years. AIIMS Delhi has remained the primary medical centre overseeing his long-term healthcare.

Ongoing Medical Care at AIIMS Delhi

Bharti said that Lalu Prasad Yadav will continue his treatment at AIIMS as part of his regular medical supervision. She stated that doctors at IGIMS discharged him only after confirming that his vital parameters had stabilised.

The veteran politician has faced several health challenges in recent years. In December 2022, he underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore, with his daughter Rohini Acharya donating one of her kidneys. Since then, he has continued periodic medical consultations and follow-up treatment at AIIMS Delhi under the supervision of specialist doctors.

As of now, neither AIIMS Delhi nor IGIMS Patna has released an official statement detailing the nature of the treatment planned during his latest visit to the national capital.

Misa Bharti Raises Civic Concerns in Patna

During the same interaction with journalists, Misa Bharti also highlighted sanitation issues affecting the locality where her parents recently shifted residence. She expressed concern over the condition of Kautilya Nagar and said the problem extends beyond a single neighbourhood.

According to her, poor waste management remains a widespread issue across several parts of Patna. She noted that residents in areas including Rajendra Nagar, Kankarbagh and other localities continue to face difficulties because of accumulating garbage. Bharti said such conditions could increase public health risks by contributing to the spread of diseases, including malaria.

While speaking on the issue, she remarked that both ordinary citizens and her family are experiencing similar challenges and stressed the need for better civic cleanliness across the state capital.

Family Recently Shifted to New Residence

Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi recently moved to their new residence in Kautilya Nagar after living for nearly two decades at the government bungalow located on 10 Circular Road in Patna.

The official residence has since been allotted to Bihar minister Nand Kishore Ram, who currently oversees the Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Resources Department in the state government.

The family’s relocation marked the end of a long stay at the government accommodation, which had remained closely associated with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s political journey over the years.

Health Remains Stable Ahead of Delhi Visit

Family members have maintained that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s condition is stable following treatment in Patna. His planned visit to AIIMS Delhi is being undertaken as a precautionary step to ensure continued medical supervision by specialists familiar with his health history.

Supporters and party workers are closely following updates on his condition, while doctors are expected to assess his health further after he reaches the national capital. For now, medical advice remains focused on adequate rest and continued monitoring before the next phase of treatment begins.
