Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hosted a breakfast meeting at his residence with around 45 newly elected and first-time NDA Lok Sabha MPs, including leaders who recently joined the alliance from different political parties. The interaction focused on strengthening coordination within the coalition, promoting national development, and encouraging lawmakers to work collectively for the benefit of citizens.

PM Stresses Unity Within the NDA

Among those present was Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) leader Jagdish Basunia, who described the meeting as warm and constructive. Speaking after the interaction, Basunia said the Prime Minister emphasised that every member of the alliance should consider themselves part of one family and work together in the spirit that defines the NDA.

According to Basunia, the discussion revolved around serving the public through coordinated efforts and ensuring that alliance partners remain committed to common development goals.

North-East Development Receives Attention

NCPI MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay said the development of India’s North-East featured prominently during the discussions. He noted that the participants exchanged views on accelerating growth in the region and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Prime Minister’s long-term development vision.

The focus on the North-East reflected the government’s continued emphasis on improving infrastructure, connectivity, and economic opportunities across the region through coordinated policy implementation.

Leaders Highlight Collaborative Approach

NCPI MP Shatabdi Roy also spoke about the meeting, saying the discussions centred on working collectively in the country’s larger interest. She indicated that cooperation among alliance partners remained a key theme throughout the breakfast interaction, with participants expressing their willingness to contribute to national priorities.

The meeting brought together MPs from different political backgrounds who have recently become part of the NDA, underscoring the coalition’s efforts to build stronger coordination ahead of future parliamentary business.

Meeting Follows Interaction With BJP Rajya Sabha MPs

The breakfast session came just days after Prime Minister Modi met 37 newly elected BJP Rajya Sabha members at his residence on August 5. During that gathering, the Prime Minister reportedly interacted with the lawmakers, addressed their questions, and offered guidance on their responsibilities as parliamentarians.

The Rajya Sabha meeting also included leaders who had recently joined the BJP from other political parties, reflecting the party’s focus on orienting its new members before upcoming parliamentary sessions.

Guidance on Public Conduct and Social Media

During his interaction with BJP Rajya Sabha MPs earlier this week, the Prime Minister advised members to remain disciplined in both their public and personal conduct. According to sources, he cautioned them against becoming limited to Delhi’s political circles and encouraged them to stay connected with people across the country.

He also urged MPs to exercise care while interacting with others, use official communication responsibly, and maintain high standards of public behaviour. Modi reportedly highlighted that while technology and social media offer valuable opportunities to connect with citizens, they should always be used responsibly and with dignity.

The Prime Minister further advised lawmakers not to carry the tensions of parliamentary debates into public life. He encouraged them to present the party’s position calmly, avoid unnecessary confrontations, and maintain decorum during television appearances and online engagement. He also asked MPs to actively connect with young people through digital platforms while promoting government welfare initiatives and encouraging participation in sports and other constructive activities.
