Shivakumar and outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah welcomed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at HAL Airport in Bengaluru on Wednesday. After reaching Lok Bhavan, Shivakumar spent time meeting distinguished guests assembled at the Glass House. He interacted with invitees and received blessings from several respected spiritual figures before formally assuming office.
Among those he met was Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, whose blessings he sought ahead of taking on his new responsibilities. The incoming leader also paid respects to Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murty. In a gesture of respect, Shivakumar sought their blessings before the commencement of the official proceedings.

The delegation included Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, and other cabinet colleagues.
