Health – RML Hospital Reports Stable Recovery of Woman Injured After Protest
Health –A 21-year-old woman who was admitted to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in a critical condition after a reported incident linked to a recent protest has shown consistent improvement, according to the latest medical update released by the hospital. Doctors said her condition has stabilized, although she continues to remain under close observation as part of her ongoing treatment.
Hospital Confirms Positive Recovery Progress
Medical officials stated that the patient was successfully taken off ventilator support nearly 72 hours ago. Since then, she has been breathing independently without complications. The hospital noted that her overall clinical condition has improved steadily over the past few days, reflecting a positive response to treatment.
Doctors also confirmed that the woman is fully conscious, alert, and able to respond appropriately to instructions given by the medical staff. As part of her recovery, she has been introduced to oral nutrition during the last 24 hours and is tolerating food without any reported difficulty.
Multidisciplinary Team Monitoring Treatment
While describing her present condition as stable, the hospital emphasized that the patient’s recovery process is still being carefully monitored. A team comprising specialists from multiple medical disciplines is supervising her treatment to ensure continued progress and address any potential complications that may arise during the recovery period.
Hospital authorities reiterated that comprehensive medical care remains in place, with regular assessments being carried out to monitor her health and support her rehabilitation.
Protest Leaves Police Personnel and Students Injured
The medical update comes as authorities continue to assess the aftermath of the July 20 “Sansad Chalo” march organized by students. According to Delhi Police sources, the protest, which began at Jantar Mantar and moved towards Parliament, resulted in injuries to at least 130 police personnel and approximately 65 students.
Police officials also stated that legal action has been initiated in connection with the demonstrations. A total of 15 First Information Reports (FIRs) have reportedly been registered as part of the investigation into incidents associated with the protest.
Security Strengthened Around Protest Venue
Officials said a large number of people continue to gather at and around Jantar Mantar each day. Police sources estimated that the area witnesses an average daily presence of nearly 10,000 individuals. To manage the situation and maintain public order, around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed in and around the protest site.
Authorities said security arrangements remain in place as demonstrations continue, with police closely monitoring movement in the surrounding areas to prevent any disruption of law and order.
Facial Recognition System Used for Monitoring
Delhi Police have also confirmed the use of Facial Recognition System (FRS) cameras at Jantar Mantar as part of their security measures. According to police sources, the technology is being used to identify individuals with previous criminal records who arrive at the protest location.
Officials claimed that more than 2,000 people with past criminal records have been identified through the Facial Recognition System since monitoring began. Police said surveillance and security operations will continue while the protest remains active, with the objective of maintaining public safety and preventing unlawful activities.
