Pilgrims Travelled Through Three Embarkation Points

Haj Committee Chairman Haji Sheikh Hasan Basha said nearly 2,000 people from Andhra Pradesh took part in this year’s pilgrimage. The group departed through embarkation centres in Vijayawada, Bengaluru and Hyderabad before travelling to Saudi Arabia.

According to the committee, the overall journey was well managed, and pilgrims did not report major concerns during their stay or travel. Hasan Basha credited Haj inspectors and Khadimul Hujjaj for helping pilgrims with arrangements, guidance and other support throughout the pilgrimage.

State Assistance Provided to Eligible Pilgrims

The state government also extended financial assistance to a section of pilgrims travelling through Vijayawada. The support was provided as part of an election commitment made by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Under directions from the Chief Minister, Minority Welfare Minister NMD Farooq supervised the transfer of Rs 1 lakh each to 333 eligible Haj pilgrims. The amount was deposited directly into their bank accounts before or during the travel process, according to the Haj Committee.

Officials said the assistance was intended to reduce some of the financial burden associated with the pilgrimage and help eligible families manage travel-related expenses.

Beneficiaries Confirm Receipt of Funds

Several pilgrims who received the financial support confirmed that the money had reached their accounts. They thanked the Chief Minister and the Andhra Pradesh government for the assistance provided for the Haj journey.

The committee said the direct benefit transfer process helped ensure that the approved support reached beneficiaries without delay. Pilgrims also acknowledged the role of the Minority Welfare Department in coordinating the scheme.

Prayers Offered for Andhra Pradesh

Hasan Basha said the pilgrims offered prayers in Mecca for the peace, progress and well-being of Andhra Pradesh. He described the successful completion of the pilgrimage as an important moment for the state’s Muslim community.

He said the Haj Committee remained focused on ensuring that pilgrims received proper guidance before departure and support during the journey. The committee will continue to work with government departments to improve arrangements for future Haj programmes.

Haj Committee Thanks State Leadership

On behalf of the Muslim community and members of the Andhra Pradesh Haj Committee, Hasan Basha expressed appreciation to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and Minority Welfare Minister NMD Farooq.

He said their support for minority welfare initiatives and the Haj programme had helped pilgrims complete the journey with confidence. The committee also thanked officials, volunteers and support staff involved in coordinating the travel and welfare arrangements.
