Governance – Madhya Pradesh Launches Jan Vishwas Campaign to Strengthen Public Outreach
Governance –Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to launch a six-month-long Jan Vishwas Abhiyan from Chhindwara on Friday, marking the beginning of a statewide public outreach programme aimed at improving communication between citizens and the administration. The campaign will see ministers, senior bureaucrats and district officials spending every Friday in villages and urban areas to listen to public concerns, review government welfare programmes and ensure faster resolution of grievances.

Campaign Begins from Chhindwara
The Chief Minister is scheduled to formally inaugurate the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan at around 12:30 p.m. in Chhindwara. The initiative comes at a significant point in the BJP government’s tenure, as it completes two and a half years in office and moves into the latter half of its five-year term. The launch also takes place amid increasing criticism from the opposition Congress over governance, public services and administrative performance.
Focus on Direct Public Engagement
According to the state government, the campaign has been designed to improve direct interaction between officials and residents while making government functioning more transparent and accountable. Through regular field visits, senior officials will collect feedback on the implementation of welfare programmes, examine ground-level challenges and work towards resolving complaints within a defined timeframe.
The government has said the initiative is intended to strengthen administrative oversight, enhance responsiveness and create a more citizen-focused governance system by encouraging officials to engage directly with people instead of relying solely on office-based reviews.
Fridays Reserved for Field Visits
As part of the programme, every Friday over the next six months will be dedicated to field inspections and public interaction. Except in unavoidable situations, official meetings are expected to be avoided on these days so that ministers and officers can spend more time in the field.
Officials from the state secretariat, divisional offices and district administrations will visit selected rural and urban locations to hear public grievances, inspect development works and assess the delivery of government schemes. The administration believes that regular field presence will help identify issues more effectively and improve the quality of public services.
District Administrations Given Key Responsibilities
District Collectors have been instructed to prepare weekly plans by identifying areas that require official visits. Before each visit, they have also been directed to examine pending complaints registered through the CM Helpline, Jan Sunwai and the Public Service Guarantee Act.
The government has advised district authorities to resolve as many outstanding complaints as possible before the scheduled visits. Applications and grievances received during the field programmes will also be addressed immediately wherever practical, while remaining cases will be processed through the appropriate administrative channels.
Welfare Schemes and Public Services Under Review
The Jan Vishwas Abhiyan will extend beyond grievance hearings by including inspections of important public institutions and infrastructure. Officials will visit schools, anganwadi centres, healthcare facilities, fair price shops and other government establishments to evaluate service delivery and identify areas requiring improvement.
The review process will also cover several major welfare initiatives, including Farmer ID generation, Ayushman Bharat card distribution, Samagra ID e-KYC and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Officials will assess implementation on the ground and gather feedback from beneficiaries regarding the effectiveness of these schemes.
Dialogue with Citizens and Entrepreneurs
Apart from interactions with the general public, the campaign will feature Jan Samvad programmes to encourage discussions between citizens and government representatives. Separate Udyog Samvad sessions will also be organised to engage with MSME operators and cottage industry entrepreneurs, allowing them to raise concerns related to business operations, government support and policy implementation.
Through these interactions, the state government aims to strengthen coordination between the administration, local communities and the business sector while ensuring that public welfare programmes are reaching intended beneficiaries effectively.
