Emergency Teams Deployed to Control Blaze

According to fire department officials, multiple emergency response units were immediately dispatched to the Ashok Mill Compound as thick smoke and flames spread across the premises. Authorities acted quickly to prevent the fire from extending to nearby structures in the densely populated Dharavi locality.

Officials confirmed that firefighting operations were still ongoing at the time of the latest update. Water tankers, rescue teams, and local authorities remained stationed at the site to ensure the situation stayed under control.

No Injuries Reported So Far

Authorities stated that no deaths or injuries had been reported in connection with the incident until now. Rescue personnel continued inspecting the affected area as a precautionary measure while cooling operations were underway.

Local residents gathered near the scene as emergency teams worked to manage the fire. Officials also monitored nearby buildings to avoid any further risk due to the intensity of the flames.

Investigation Into Cause Yet to Begin

The exact reason behind the fire has not been officially confirmed. Fire officials said an inquiry would begin after the flames were completely extinguished and the site became safe for inspection.

Civic authorities are expected to assess the extent of damage caused to the property once firefighting operations are completed. More details regarding losses and possible structural impact are awaited.

Similar Fire Incidents Reported Earlier

The latest incident comes amid several fire-related emergencies reported across Maharashtra in recent weeks. Earlier in April, a major fire broke out at a dumping ground in Thane district, prompting authorities to deploy several fire engines to control the blaze.

Fire Officer Namdev Chaudhary had stated that one fire at the dumping site was brought under control before another flare-up occurred later in the evening. Emergency services remained engaged at the location for an extended period to stop the spread of flames.

Fire at Bhiwandi Dyeing Factory

Another fire incident was reported on April 19 at a dyeing factory located in the Nadi Naka area of Bhiwandi. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze, and officials confirmed that no casualties were reported in that case either.

Industrial units and storage facilities often remain vulnerable to fire hazards due to the presence of chemicals, machinery, and electrical equipment. Authorities regularly advise factory owners to maintain proper safety systems and conduct periodic inspections.

Mumbai Central Blaze Raised Concerns

In a separate case during April, a massive fire was also reported near D B Marg opposite Reliance Mall in Mumbai Central. The flames were confined to several shops and rooms inside a chawl structure.

The response operation involved teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai Police, BEST staff, and local ward officials. Authorities had then confirmed that no injuries were recorded despite extensive damage to the affected structures.

Fire safety remains a major concern in crowded urban regions such as Mumbai, where narrow lanes and dense construction can complicate emergency response efforts. Officials continue to urge residents and commercial establishments to follow fire prevention measures and report hazards promptly.
