Fire Origin Linked to Stored Construction Materials

Officials stated that the fire is believed to have started from pipes stored at the site by Megha Engineering Company, which is currently engaged in infrastructure development works related to the state capital. Preliminary findings suggest that these materials may have caught fire, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.

The area where the incident occurred is part of an active construction zone, where large quantities of industrial materials are routinely stored. Authorities are examining whether safety protocols were adequately followed during storage and handling.

Emergency Response Faces Challenges

Firefighting teams were deployed swiftly after the incident was reported. According to Thullur Circle Inspector Srinivasa Rao, at least three fire engines were pressed into service to contain the flames. Police personnel also assisted in managing the situation and securing the surrounding area.

However, firefighters faced considerable difficulty due to the intensity of the blaze. Thick smoke rising from the site significantly reduced visibility, complicating rescue and control operations. The presence of potentially flammable materials further escalated the challenge for emergency responders.

No Immediate Reports of Casualties

As of now, there have been no confirmed reports of injuries or casualties related to the fire. Authorities have focused on ensuring that nearby residential areas, especially the Chief Secretary’s bungalows, remain unaffected by the incident.

Police officials have cordoned off the area as a precautionary measure, restricting access to prevent any untoward incidents. Residents in the vicinity were advised to remain cautious while emergency operations continue.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have initiated a preliminary investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Officials from the fire department and local administration are expected to conduct a detailed inspection once the situation is fully under control.

Questions are also being raised about safety compliance at the construction site, particularly regarding the storage of materials that may pose a fire hazard. Further updates are expected as officials gather more information.

Situation Remains Under Observation

At the time of reporting, efforts to completely extinguish the fire were still ongoing. Officials have indicated that it may take additional time to fully control the situation due to the scale of the blaze and the materials involved.

More details are awaited as authorities continue their assessment and monitoring of the incident.
