Elections – Four Delhi Districts Complete Voter Form Distribution Under Roll Revision
Elections – The voter verification drive in Delhi has reached its final stage, with officials now concentrating on collecting completed forms and uploading voter details digitally after nearly all eligible residents received enumeration forms.

Four districts in the national capital have successfully completed 100 per cent distribution of enumeration forms as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. According to the latest cumulative report released by the Chief Electoral Officer, the districts of Old Delhi, New Delhi, North East, and South have delivered forms to every eligible voter. Across Delhi, officials have distributed 1,44,44,600 forms, covering around 99.55 per cent of the city’s estimated 1.45 crore registered electors. Meanwhile, 26,02,654 forms have already been digitised, accounting for nearly 18 per cent of the total electorate.
Focus Moves from Distribution to Digital Processing
With the distribution phase almost complete, booth-level officers (BLOs) have shifted their attention to gathering filled forms and uploading voter information into the Election Commission’s digital system. The ongoing digitisation process is considered a crucial step in updating electoral records before the publication of the revised voter lists.
Officials involved in the exercise explained that the work has become more technical at this stage. Besides collecting completed forms, BLOs are required to scan supporting documents, accurately enter voter information, and upload records through the Election Commission’s mobile application. Many officers said these tasks, along with occasional technical difficulties, have increased the time required to complete the digital verification process.
Election Commission Extends Revision Schedule
To ensure the exercise is completed smoothly, the Election Commission has revised the timeline for the Special Intensive Revision programme. House-to-house visits by booth-level officers, originally scheduled to conclude on July 29, will now continue until August 8.
Under the updated schedule, the draft electoral rolls will be published on August 17. Citizens will be able to submit claims and objections between August 17 and September 16 if they wish to request corrections or raise concerns regarding the draft lists. The final electoral rolls are now scheduled for publication on October 19, replacing the earlier date of October 7.
Most Districts Near Full Coverage
Apart from the four districts that achieved complete distribution, several other parts of Delhi are also nearing full coverage. Central and Outer North districts have each recorded 99.89 per cent distribution of enumeration forms, while South East has reached 99.85 per cent.
North West district remains the only area with comparatively lower progress, reporting 97.26 per cent distribution. Even so, officials indicate that the remaining forms are expected to be delivered as the extended field visits continue over the coming weeks.
Digital Verification Remains the Next Priority
Election authorities are now placing greater emphasis on completing the digitisation of submitted forms before the preparation of the updated electoral rolls. Accurate digital records are expected to support a smoother verification process and help ensure that the voter database reflects the latest information before the upcoming publication deadlines.
The Special Intensive Revision is one of the Election Commission’s regular exercises aimed at maintaining accurate and up-to-date electoral rolls. As the field distribution phase draws to a close, the success of the remaining stages will largely depend on timely form collection, efficient data entry, and the resolution of technical issues during the digitisation process.
