Delhi Air Pollution: Airport Issues Advisory Due to “Very Poor” Air Quality and Thick Smog Covering Capital
Delhi Air Pollution: At 8 a.m. on Thursday, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that the national capital’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 358, still in the extremely bad category. The air quality worsened once again after two days of little improvement, with many monitoring stations reporting severe levels that above the 400 threshold.

Anand Vihar, Vivek Vihar, and Wazirpur were among the worst-hit localities, with AQIs of 416, 411, and 404, respectively, falling into the severe category. As part of a multifaceted plan to address the city’s deteriorating air pollution, the Delhi administration will start strictly enforcing the “No PUC, No Fuel” law from December 18.
AQI for Delhi-NCR
The National Capital Region’s cities continued to have poor to severe air quality; Faridabad had an AQI of 221, Gurugram had 279, Ghaziabad had 258, Greater Noida had 310, and Muzaffarnagar had 259, all of which were in the poor range. While NH-24 in Ghazipur had an AQI of 341, falling into the extremely bad category, Noida recorded a very poor AQI of 331 as well.
Airport Advisory for Delhi
Flight operations are now being carried out under CAT III circumstances due to severe fog, which might cause delays or interruptions. To minimize passenger disruption, authorities are working closely with all parties involved. It is recommended that travelers check with their individual airlines for the most recent flight information. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
Additionally, Air India and SpiceJet issued cautions asking travelers to check the status of their flights before arriving at the airport since aircraft operations may be impacted by high fog in Delhi and other northern Indian states.

The weather in Delhi
The weather service predicts that there will be around 72% cloud cover today, which will reduce the sun’s warmth. The highest temperature is probably going to be about 18 degrees Celsius, but because of the chilly winds, it could feel more like 19 degrees. The nighttime cold might be exacerbated by west-northwest winds at a speed of around 9 km/h.
