CrimeNews –  A 38-year-old man was shot dead in broad daylight in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area on Wednesday, prompting a swift police response that led to the arrest of four suspects. Investigators believe the killing may be connected to a long-standing family dispute that originated in Uttar Pradesh.

The victim, identified as Hardesh Mishra, also known as Bhura, was reportedly attacked while travelling with his younger brother on a motorcycle during the morning hours. Police officials said preliminary findings indicate that the incident could be linked to an old enmity involving relatives.

Attack Took Place During Morning Commute

According to police, Mishra had left home with his brother Ajay to collect their truck when they were intercepted by four men riding two motorcycles. The assailants allegedly opened fire shortly after confronting the brothers.

During the initial confrontation, Ajay sustained minor injuries and was later taken for medical treatment. Authorities confirmed that his condition is stable. Investigators are examining the sequence of events that unfolded before the shooting and are collecting evidence from the scene.

Victim Attempted to Escape

Officials said Mishra tried to flee after the attackers began firing. He reportedly abandoned his motorcycle and ran in an effort to save himself. However, he was struck by multiple bullets and collapsed near a gate in the locality.

Emergency services were alerted, but he succumbed to his injuries. The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the legal process. Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Businessman Involved in Construction Supply Work

Mishra earned his livelihood through a mini-truck business that supplied shuttering materials used in construction projects. Residents familiar with the victim described him as being involved in local transport and supply operations.

Police are also reviewing whether any recent developments in his personal or professional life could have played a role in the attack. However, investigators currently believe that the primary motive stems from a family-related conflict.

Family Dispute Under Investigation

Sources involved in the investigation said the suspected motive appears to be connected to a murder case registered earlier in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. Officers are examining the history of the dispute and its possible connection to the fatal shooting in Delhi.

Authorities have detained all four accused individuals and are questioning them regarding their alleged involvement. Investigators are also looking into whether the attack was planned in advance and if additional people may have assisted in coordinating the crime.

Eyewitness Recounts Moments of Shooting

A local resident who witnessed the incident told police that the attackers arrived on two motorcycles and immediately began firing at the victim. According to the eyewitness, approximately five rounds were discharged during the assault.
