Accused Attempted to Avoid Suspicion While Leaving Scene

Investigators have identified Rahul Meena as the main accused in the case. Surveillance footage reportedly shows him exiting the building with a phone pressed to his ear, giving the impression that he was engaged in a call. Police officials believe this was a deliberate attempt to avoid interaction with people in the neighborhood who might recognize him. According to officials, no actual call was made during that time.

He has since been taken into custody, and police are working to reconstruct the timeline of events while cross-checking his statements with available evidence.

Incident Took Place When Victim Was Alone at Home

The crime occurred on a Wednesday morning when the victim was alone in the house. Her parents had stepped out for their regular gym routine. When they returned around 8 am, they found her unresponsive on the floor. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The police were informed shortly afterward, leading to the start of an intensive investigation.

The victim was a graduate of IIT Delhi and had been preparing for the civil services examination, according to sources familiar with the case.

Sequence of Crime Suggests Planned Robbery

Initial findings suggest that the accused entered the residence with the intention of stealing money. During the incident, he allegedly assaulted the victim and later attempted to access a locker inside the house. Investigators say he tried to force the victim’s fingers onto a digital lock, possibly to unlock it. When unsuccessful, he reportedly broke open the locker.

Police sources indicate that cash amounting to approximately ₹2.5 lakh and jewellery worth several lakh rupees were taken. After the incident, the accused is believed to have changed his bloodstained clothes before leaving the premises.

Officials have stated that the motive appears to be financial, with the accused allegedly attempting to arrange money to repay debts. Other actions during the crime are being treated as developments that occurred while carrying out the theft.

Forensic Report Highlights Signs of Struggle

The post-mortem examination has revealed multiple injuries on the victim’s body, including abrasions and contusions on her arms, hands, and legs. Facial injuries, including cuts and a fracture of the nasal bone, suggest that there was significant resistance.

According to forensic experts, these injuries are consistent with a physical struggle. The findings confirm that the cause of death was strangulation following the assault.

Samples collected during the examination, including swabs and nail scrapings, have been preserved for further laboratory analysis. These tests are expected to provide clarity on additional aspects of the case.

Evidence Collected for Detailed Analysis

Police officials have stated that the victim was allegedly strangled using a mobile phone charging cable. Several pieces of evidence have been secured, including biological samples, ligature material, and other forensic traces. These will be examined to strengthen the case and establish a clearer picture of the events.

Investigators are continuing to piece together the sequence of actions and verify all claims made by the accused. The case has raised concerns about residential safety and the need for vigilance, particularly in urban areas.
