The event was made public on Wednesday when an alleged video appeared on social media and sparked worries.

Later in the day, Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs, would speak to the Bengaluru media about the matter. Joshi represents the Dharwad Lok Sabha seat, which includes the important city of Hubballi. The Karnataka BJP has already called for the officers who reportedly abused a BJP women employee in Hubballi and stripped her naked to be suspended immediately.

Police said that Suvarna Kalakuntla, a member of the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation Congress, and seven other people have been charged with severe offenses, such as rioting, criminal intimidation, and attempted murder.

The BJP activist Sujatha Handi’s brother, Mariadas, filed a complaint about an alleged incident that occurred on January 2 in Chalukya Nagar in Hubballi, which led to the filing of the FIR. Sections 109, 115(2), 118(1), 189(2), 191(2), 74, 190, and 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been invoked to book the accused.

Following a rally by BJP activists calling for action against Congress corporator Suvarna Kalakuntla, the police took action. Former BJP MLA Seema Masuti, Mayor Jyoti Patil, and Deputy Mayor Santosh Chauhan spearheaded the demonstration.

According to police sources, the event is thought to have been caused by a long-standing personal animosity between two families. about the last several years, BJP activist Sujatha Handi and Congress corporator Suvarna Kalakuntla have reportedly engaged in a number of arguments about trivial matters, apparently as part of a struggle for influence in the community.

The battle is alleged to have been more intense since Sujatha Handi joined the BJP two years ago after previously being connected to Suvarna Kalakuntla. According to insiders, what started out as a personal disagreement has now taken a political turn, leading to the most recent incident and the filing of the FIR.

Recall that a BJP woman employee was allegedly assaulted and stripped by police in Hubballi, Karnataka, allegedly due to a disagreement over a voter review process. On Wednesday, a video of the event went viral, shocking and alarming many.

Male police officers are accused of abusing the lady and using foul language in the footage.

The event took place within the boundaries of Hubballi’s Keshvapur police station. Sources claim that when Hubballi-Dharwad Congress corporator Suvarna Kallakuntla filed a complaint against BJP worker Sujatha Handi, also known as Vijayalaxmi Handi, she was brutalized.

Sujatha Handi is accused of being singled out after completing voter mapping as part of the process of updating the voter list. The Congress corporator was reportedly incensed by this and filed a case against her at the Keshvapur police station.

A female BJP worker claimed that she was beaten and stripped by police during a conflict over the Hubballi voter revision process, however the Karnataka Police denied her allegations.

According to Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar, a BJP worker “had stripped herself” after being attacked and stripped by male and female police officers.

In response to the development, the State Women’s Commission said that before any remarks are made on the case, the roles of the victim and the police must be considered.

After touring the Keshvapur police station in Hubballi, Police Commissioner Shashikumar told reporters, “She bit one female officer on her abdomen and attacked four of our female staffers.” I have no idea who took the video. We will conduct a thorough examination, taking into account every factor.

The Karnataka BJP has called for the authorities who reportedly undressed and attacked the lady to be suspended immediately.

A disturbing incident involving the alleged stripping and abuse of a Dalit BJP women worker occurred in Hubballi, according to State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra.

“The Home Minister must immediately suspend the concerned officials if law and order is still in place in the state and he has any authority,” Vijayendra said.

He stated that those authorities who reportedly beat and stripped the Dalit lady, a BJP employee, at the insistence of Congress leaders must be held accountable.
