Amit Shah: ‘Vote bank’ is how describes the Congress’s treatment of Bangladeshi infiltrators
Amit Shah: On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unleashed a vicious assault on the Congress party, accusing them of using Bangladeshi infiltrators as a “vote bank,” in spite of the danger they bring to the people, land, and cultural identity of Assam. Speaking to a sizable crowd during the opening of the renovated Mahpurush Srimanta Sankardeva Abirbhav Kshetra at Batadrawa Than in Nagaon district, Shah said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was dedicated to locating and getting rid of all illegal immigrants in Assam and across India.

“Congress views infiltrators as a source of votes.”
Shah made it apparent that the BJP was committed to protecting the interests of the Assamese people, whilst the Congress chose to ignore the threats presented by illegal infiltrators. He discussed how these infiltrators threatened the area’s unique cultural character in addition to its resources and economics.
“Congress has consistently treated infiltrators who have threatened the people, culture, and identity of Assam as a vote bank,” Shah said.
Shah said, “The Modi government has focused on the overall development of the state in addition to ensuring the protection of the Assamese people’s cultural identity.”
As Assam prepares for its Assembly elections in 2026, the Home Minister directly pleaded with people to keep backing the BJP. He said, “Give us another five years, and we will eradicate infiltration from Assam, guaranteeing the safety, prosperity, and cultural pride of its people.”
