Taiwan: observes nineteen boats and 130 Chinese planes in the vicinity
Taiwan: In the midst of Chinese military exercises, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense reported a significant increase in Chinese military activity in the area, with several Chinese ships and planes using the local skies and waterways.

Taiwan’s defense ministry posted on X on Tuesday: “Up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, 130 PLA aircraft, 14 PLAN vessels, and 8 official ships operating around Taiwan were detected.” Ninety of the 130 sorties penetrated Taiwan’s northern, central, southwestern, and eastern ADIZ after crossing the median line. We kept an eye on things and took action.
The most recent discovery was made a day after China’s army, navy, air force, and rocket forces were used in extensive combined military exercises surrounding Taiwan. According to Beijing, the drills served as a stark warning against outside intervention and “Taiwan independence” separatist groups.
According to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the exercises, called “Justice Mission-2025,” include synchronized air, sea, and land operations.According to the Global Times, the drills include precise attacks, blockade operations, war preparation, and control of vital regions and important ports around Taiwan.
The Taiwan Strait as well as regions to Taiwan’s north, south, east, and southwest are the locations for the exercises. According to The Global Times, five designated marine and aviation zones around the island will have live-fire exercises on Tuesday.
The action was denounced by Taiwanese military leaders as reckless. Taiwan officials claim that portions of each of the five PLA-designated live-fire practice zones are located inside Taiwan’s territorial seas, according to Focus Taiwan.
Taiwan has already reported heightened Chinese naval activity by Monday afternoon. According to Lt Gen Hsieh Jih-sheng, deputy commander of the general staff for intelligence at Taiwan’s defense ministry, 14 Chinese Coast Guard ships and 14 PLA warships were cruising Taiwan and its surrounding islands.
Tensions across the Taiwan Strait are still high, according to Taiwan’s defense ministry, which said it is keeping a close eye on the situation and has responded appropriately.
