CancerSurvivor – Veteran actor Nafisa Ali has shared a heartwarming glimpse into her recovery journey, revealing how a recent trek in the Himalayan region left her feeling refreshed and energized years after battling cancer and undergoing extensive medical treatment.

A Meaningful Adventure in the Mountains
The 69-year-old actor posted several photographs and videos from a family outing near Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh, where she trekked at an elevation of approximately 11,000 feet. The excursion brought together family members and close friends, making the day both physically rewarding and emotionally uplifting.
Reflecting on the experience, Nafisa explained that reaching such a height after surgery and multiple rounds of chemotherapy gave her a renewed sense of confidence. She described the outing as a special moment that made her feel revitalized and grateful for the progress she has made in her recovery.
Family Support Played a Key Role
Among the images shared online were moments showing her son-in-law and grandson helping her navigate the rugged terrain. Nafisa openly acknowledged their support, noting that the challenging route became easier with their encouragement and assistance.
In one video, she can be seen making her way toward a vehicle after the trek while being helped by family members. She expressed happiness at successfully completing the journey and described the entire experience as enjoyable and memorable.

Nafisa began her acting career in 1979 with the acclaimed film “Junoon,” directed by renowned filmmaker Shyam Benegal and featuring actor Shashi Kapoor. Over the decades, she built a diverse body of work across Hindi and regional cinema.
Her filmography includes notable titles such as “Major Saab,” “Bewafaa,” “Life in a… Metro,” “Guzaarish,” and “Yamla Pagla Deewana.” She also appeared in the Malayalam film “Big B” alongside Mammootty.
Apart from her work in cinema, Nafisa entered politics and contested the 2004 Lok Sabha election from South Kolkata. Although she was unsuccessful in the electoral contest, she remained active in public life and social causes.
