Aamir Khan: A fascinating behind-the-scenes look at actress Sakshi Tanwar’s casting in the popular film Dangal was revealed in a video posted on social media by production banner Aamir Khan Productions.

On its official social media account, Aamir Khan Productions recently posted a video that told the backstory of actress Sakshi Tanwar’s casting in the 2016 movie Dangal. Sakshi Tanwar’s interview with Aamir Khan revealed how the TV personality was chosen to play Daya Kaur, the wife of Mahavir Singh Phogat, in the biographical sports drama.
Recalling the casting procedure, Aamir Khan said in the video that Sakshi Tanwar’s name was recommended after a number of other women had been tried out for the part. I’m not sure why, but one day Sakshi Tanwar came to mind. I said, “What have you done?” when the scenario was created. When he saw the video, he said, “I wasn’t expecting it at all.”
Aamir goes on to say that his choice was impacted by his mother’s appreciation of Sakshi’s television work. Sakshi was really my idea. He spoke to the film’s director, Nitesh Tiwari, and said, “I told Niteshji, ‘Should we try Sakshi ji?'” My mom used to really like her on TV. In the same video, Sakshi Tanwar recalls how surprised she was to hear about the position.
“I couldn’t believe that this could also be a pairing when I was told that this is the character,” she said. She also stated how Aamir personally told her, “Welcome, you’re on board,” after confirming her selection. Sakshi’s professionalism and acting skills were commended by Aamir, who pointed out that she often only needed one take. She is incredible. She is an amazing actor. When you suggest minor adjustments, she grasps them right away and executes them flawlessly. She does it with a lot of passion in addition to competence,” he said. Aamir said that their on-screen relationship evolved organically.
It just occurred on its own. Like the many parts of a puzzle fitting together,” he said. The video ends with Aamir saying, “One day, the universe decided to be generous, and I became a part of Dangal,” expressing thanks for the way the movie came to be.
The 2016 release of Dangal garnered tremendous praise from critics for its performances and narrative, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films globally.
