NEET Exam – Bihar Police Issues Fresh Warning Before Retest
NEET Exam – With the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, authorities in Bihar have urged students and their families to remain alert against misleading information and fraudulent schemes that claim to provide examination papers or answer keys ahead of the test.

The advisory comes after the National Testing Agency (NTA) confirmed June 21 as the date for the fresh NEET-UG examination. The retest is being conducted following the cancellation of the earlier examination held on May 3 amid allegations of a question paper leak. The matter remains under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Authorities Warn Against Fraudulent Offers
In a public notice, Bihar Police’s Economic Offence Unit (EOU) cautioned candidates not to trust individuals or groups claiming to possess confidential examination material. Officials said cybercriminals often exploit examination-related anxiety by contacting students and parents with false promises of access to question papers or answer solutions.
According to the advisory, such deceptive tactics may increase as the examination date approaches. The department emphasized that no genuine agency can provide examination papers in advance and urged the public to remain vigilant.
Concerns Over Online Rumours
The EOU also expressed concern that anti-social elements could attempt to spread unverified information through social media platforms. Officials warned that rumours circulating online have the potential to create confusion among candidates and undermine confidence in the examination process.
Police have encouraged citizens to immediately report any suspicious messages, posts, or claims related to leaked examination material. Prompt reporting, officials said, can help authorities take swift action and prevent the spread of misinformation.
Legal Action Against Offenders
The advisory made it clear that strict legal measures will be taken against individuals found engaging in activities that threaten the integrity of the examination. Authorities stated that anyone involved in circulating fake information, promoting fraudulent schemes, or attempting to manipulate the examination process could face criminal proceedings.
Officials stressed that maintaining the credibility of competitive examinations remains a top priority and that law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring activities linked to potential examination-related fraud.
Background of the Investigation
The warning comes amid ongoing investigations into previous examination irregularities. Earlier, the Economic Offence Unit arrested Sanjeev Kumar Singh, also known as Sanjeev Mukhiya, who is alleged to be a key figure in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case. He has also been linked to other examination-related investigations in Bihar.
Authorities have previously alleged his involvement in the Bihar Public Service Commission’s Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-3), conducted in March 2024. Investigations into these cases are continuing as agencies work to identify individuals responsible for examination malpractice.
Reporting Suspicious Activities
The EOU has requested the public to immediately inform authorities if they receive calls, messages, or offers related to examination papers, answer sheets, or any other suspicious services. Officials noted that early reporting can help prevent fraud and protect candidates from becoming victims of scams.
As thousands of students prepare for the upcoming NEET-UG retest, authorities have reiterated that candidates should rely only on official announcements and verified information sources. They also advised parents to remain cautious and avoid sharing personal or financial information with unknown callers claiming to have access to examination material.
