Bihar: Tej Pratap Yadav Makes Fun of Tejashwi’s Mahua Campaign Ahead of the Elections, Saying “He’s Still A Child”

Bihar: Shortly after RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav concluded his campaign in Mahua on Monday, Tej Pratap Yadav, the national president of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) and a candidate for the Mahua assembly, made a scathing jab at his younger brother by referring to him as “a child.”

He is now still a youngster. We’ll give him a jhunjhuna (rattle) after the polls,” Tej Pratap informed reporters, adding, “If he visits our region, we’ll visit his area as well.” After that, we’ll go to Raghopur.

The statement coincides with increased political tension in Mahua, where RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s two sons are engaged in a proxy war.

After being kicked out of the RJD earlier this year, Tej Pratap, who ran as an RJD candidate and won from Mahua in 2015, is running again under his own name. After a public dispute with his family over personal issues, he left the RJD and founded the Jan Shakti Janata Dal.

With results expected on November 14, the Mahua battle is expected to be one of the most carefully followed in the first phase of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, which are set for November 6 and 11.

Once an RJD stronghold, the seat is now expected to see a heated struggle between former partners who are now adversaries.

Mahagathbandhan’s RJD representative in Mahua, Raushan, is now an MLA and is engaged in a direct and intense confrontation with Tej Pratap Yadav, a former party colleague and Lalu’s son.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has added Sanjay Kumar Singh from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) to the already crowded field.

Indrajeet Pradhan will simultaneously play Jan Suraaj, played by Prashant Kishor.

All of the main parties are anticipated to run a fierce campaign in Mahua, which is a part of the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat.

Shortly after his new party unveiled its first slate of 22 candidates, Tej Pratap submitted his candidacy on October 16. Later, he took responsibility for gaining Mahua district designation, which he said had enhanced the quality of life for the local people.

Additionally, he said that he helped get approval for a medical college in the area, which would provide locals access to improved medical services.
