Crime – Family Alleges Police Ignored Repeated Warnings Before Six Murders in Telangana

Crime – A shocking case of multiple murders in Telangana’s Rangareddy district has sparked serious questions over police response after relatives of the victims claimed that repeated warnings about the accused were ignored despite several complaints.

Telangana police warning failure case

The maternal uncle of a minor girl who was among six people killed in the incident has accused the local police of failing to act even after the family repeatedly informed authorities about threats made by the accused. According to the family, the suspect had been booked earlier under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly stalking and harassing the teenager, but continued to move freely despite complaints about his behaviour.

Family Raises Questions Over Police Response

Speaking to ANI, the victim’s uncle, Naresh, said the family had approached the police on multiple occasions after the POCSO case was registered. He alleged that the accused openly threatened to kill every member of the family within days of the complaint being filed.

Naresh claimed the family submitted written complaints detailing the threats, expecting immediate action from the authorities. However, he alleged that the accused was neither taken into custody nor subjected to effective questioning, allowing him to remain at large despite the seriousness of the allegations.

Allegations of Investigation Lapses

The family further alleged that the accused secured anticipatory bail soon after the initial case was registered in May. According to Naresh, police repeatedly informed them that they were unable to locate the suspect, even though the family claimed he was frequently seen in and around Shabad and continued issuing threats.

He maintained that relatives of the accused were aware of his whereabouts and that this information had also been shared with investigators. Despite these inputs, the family alleges no decisive preventive action was taken before the incident occurred.

Naresh has demanded strict action against the officers responsible for handling the earlier complaints, stating that the tragedy could have been prevented if timely measures had been taken. He alleged that three members of his own family lost their lives because authorities failed to respond adequately to repeated warnings.

Protest Outside Police Station

The killings triggered strong public outrage in the area. Family members, relatives and local residents gathered outside the Shabad police station, demanding accountability from the police department.

Protesters raised slogans and called for disciplinary action against officials they believe failed to prevent the attack despite being informed about the threats well in advance. The demonstration reflected growing anger over what the family describes as a serious lapse in law enforcement.

Sequence of the Fatal Attack

According to investigators, the incident unfolded late on Friday night. Police said the accused allegedly arrived at the minor girl’s residence in Shabad around 10:45 pm. Authorities believe he fatally attacked the teenager’s 42-year-old mother after she answered the door and later killed the girl’s 60-year-old grandmother inside the house.

Investigators allege that the accused then forcibly took the minor girl away in his vehicle before allegedly killing her and abandoning her body near a lake bund in the locality.

Police further stated that the accused later returned to his own residence, where he allegedly killed his 31-year-old wife along with their four-year-old son and 18-month-old infant son while they were asleep, resulting in six deaths within a short period.

Search Operation Continues

Senior police officials said the suspect later contacted his father and allegedly confessed to carrying out the killings before indicating that he intended to end his own life. His parents subsequently informed the police control room.

Following the incident, Telangana Police formed multiple special teams to trace the absconding accused. Officials confirmed that the bodies of all six victims have been sent for post-mortem examinations at a government mortuary. The investigation remains in progress as authorities continue efforts to apprehend the suspect and examine all aspects of the case.
