Actor Kushal Tandon has found himself at the center of a fresh controversy after reality television personality Shreya Kalra alleged that he had flirted with her through social media while he was reportedly in a relationship with actress Shivangi Joshi. Following these claims, Kushal’s sister Tina Tandon publicly defended her brother, urging people to avoid making judgments based on only one version of events.
In a message shared on Instagram, Tina stated that the recent remarks about Kushal and his past relationship do not reflect the complete picture. She emphasized that since her brother is currently occupied inside a reality show and is unable to respond personally, it would be fair to wait until all sides have been presented before forming opinions.
Shreya Kalra Shares Her Version
The controversy began after Shreya Kalra spoke about her interaction with Kushal during her appearance on the reality series “Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa.” According to her, the actor contacted her through social media after they worked together on a promotional shoot for the television drama “Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka.”
Shreya claimed that she initially responded to the conversation but later distanced herself after learning that Kushal and Shivangi Joshi were in a relationship. She further said that she wanted to avoid any misunderstanding and even offered Shivangi access to her phone if she ever wished to verify their conversations.
Kushal and Shivangi’s Relationship
Kushal Tandon and Shivangi Joshi reportedly grew close while filming “Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka.” Their relationship attracted considerable attention from fans before Kushal announced their separation through a social media post in 2025. That announcement, however, was later removed from his account.
Neither Kushal nor Shivangi has publicly addressed Shreya’s latest statements. With Kushal currently participating in another reality competition, there has been no direct response from the actor regarding the allegations.

The issue has gained additional attention because all three personalities are currently associated with reality television. Kushal is competing in “Alliance,” while Shivangi Joshi and Shreya Kalra are contestants in the latest season of “Lock Upp.”

Format of the New Season
The latest edition of the reality series follows a competitive survival-based format in which 14 contestants share a single lock-up environment over six weeks. Participants are required to complete assigned tasks to earn in-game currency, which can then be used to obtain basic necessities such as food, supplies and other privileges within the competition.
The franchise first debuted in 2022 with Kangana Ranaut as host and Karan Kundrra serving as the jailor throughout the season. Munawar Faruqui emerged as the winner of the inaugural edition.
