Crime – Six Dead After POCSO Accused Allegedly Carries Out Multiple Killings

Crime –  A disturbing case of alleged multiple murders has sent shockwaves through Telangana after a man accused in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case was reported to have killed six people across two families before fleeing. Police have launched an extensive search operation while investigators work to establish the sequence of events surrounding the incident.

The tragedy unfolded on Friday night within the jurisdiction of Shabad Police Station in Rangareddy district. According to the police, the accused allegedly attacked the minor girl connected to the earlier POCSO case, along with her mother and grandmother. The incident has raised serious concerns due to the accused’s previous involvement in a criminal case and the scale of the violence reported.

Police Launch Manhunt

Law enforcement officials identified the accused as 35-year-old Raju Kumar. Investigators said he is believed to have fled after the alleged killings and remains untraceable. Police teams have been deployed to locate him, and a detailed investigation is underway to determine the motive and gather evidence related to the case.

Officials stated that the accused allegedly contacted his parents after the attacks. During the phone call, he reportedly informed them that he had killed members of both families and intended to end his own life. His parents subsequently alerted the police, prompting an immediate response from authorities.

Victims Included Two Families

According to investigators, the six victims include the minor girl, her mother and grandmother, as well as the accused’s wife and their two children. The deaths have left both families devastated and have drawn significant attention from local authorities due to the nature of the crime.

Police confirmed that all six bodies were shifted to a government mortuary, where post-mortem examinations will be conducted. The forensic findings are expected to assist investigators in establishing the precise circumstances and timeline of the incident.

Background of the Case

Authorities said the accused had previously been booked under the POCSO Act in connection with a case involving the minor victim. At the time of the alleged murders, he was reportedly out on bail. Investigators are examining whether the earlier criminal proceedings had any connection with the latest incident.

Police also confirmed that the minor victim’s family was residing in Shahbad, while the accused is originally from Raiwalaguda. Officers are collecting statements from relatives, neighbours and other potential witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.
