AyodhyaDonations – Uttar Pradesh Ministers Demand SIT Probe Over Donation Leak Claims

AyodhyaDonations –The political debate over the alleged irregularities involving donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya intensified on Wednesday after Uttar Pradesh Minister Dharampal Singh questioned how Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav became the first senior political leader to publicly raise the issue. The minister called for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine not only the alleged financial irregularities but also the circumstances under which the information first reached the opposition leader.

Minister Questions Source Behind Early Allegations

Dharampal Singh said Akhilesh Yadav’s early comments on the matter have raised questions that deserve an independent investigation. According to the minister, if the Samajwadi Party chief had prior knowledge of the alleged embezzlement of temple donations, investigators should determine how that information reached him before it became a wider public issue.

The minister maintained that an SIT inquiry should explore every aspect of the controversy to ensure transparency. He argued that establishing the origin of the allegations would help clarify the sequence of events and strengthen public confidence in the investigation.

Background of the Political Dispute

The controversy dates back to June 7, when Akhilesh Yadav shared a post on social media alleging irregularities in donations made at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. At the time, he demanded a judicial investigation into the matter, becoming one of the first prominent political figures to publicly question the handling of temple contributions.

A day before Dharampal Singh’s latest remarks, the Samajwadi Party leader accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Uttar Pradesh government of attempting to divert public attention from the issue. In his statement on X, Yadav claimed that the ruling party was resorting to distractions instead of addressing concerns related to the alleged misuse of donations.

He further criticised the BJP, alleging that the party was facing growing public dissatisfaction and had failed to respond adequately to the accusations surrounding the temple donation controversy.

BJP Minister Responds to Akhilesh Yadav

Responding to those allegations, Dharampal Singh accused the Samajwadi Party leader of politicising the issue rather than focusing on the facts. He also remarked that Akhilesh Yadav had not personally visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya for worship, despite several members of his own party having done so.

The minister reiterated that the key question was how Yadav obtained the information before others and insisted that this aspect should also be investigated. According to him, a comprehensive SIT probe would help establish the truth without leaving room for speculation.

In addition, Dharampal Singh alleged that the opposition leader was attempting to secure the support of a particular section of voters by raising the issue. He claimed that the controversy was being used for political purposes rather than out of genuine concern over the reported financial irregularities.

Sanjay Nishad Rejects Opposition’s Claims

Another Uttar Pradesh minister, Sanjay Nishad, also dismissed Akhilesh Yadav’s allegations, describing them as unfounded. He said the government remains committed to taking action against anyone found responsible for any wrongdoing connected to the alleged irregularities.

Nishad stated that those accused of involvement in the matter would face legal consequences, while devotees and those associated with the construction of the Ram Temple should not be blamed without evidence. He added that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already assured the public that appropriate action will be taken against anyone found guilty after the investigation.

The exchange of statements has further intensified the political confrontation between the ruling BJP and the Samajwadi Party. While the opposition continues to demand accountability over the alleged donation irregularities, the state government has maintained that due process will determine responsibility and that action will be based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
