Railway Accident – Four Family Members Killed Near Chebrolu Station
Railway Accident – Four members of a family, including three women, were killed after they were struck by a passing train near Chebrolu railway station in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district late Saturday. Railway Police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Victims Identified as Tadepalligudem Residents
The victims were identified as Shaik Chand Basha, 50, his wife Shaik Haseena, 45, and two women identified as Shaik Sharmeela, 22, the daughter of Chand Basha, and another Shaik Sharmeela, the wife of Gouse.
All four were residents of Mamidithota in Tadepalligudem. Chand Basha was known to run an optical shop in the town, according to preliminary information gathered by police.
Express Train Passed Through Station at Night
Railway Sub-Inspector Apparao Palavalasa said the family members were on Platform No. 1 at Chebrolu station when the Cherlapalli-Shalimar Express passed through the area at about 8.30 pm.
The train reportedly ran over all four individuals, resulting in their deaths at the scene. Police said the impact caused severe injuries to the victims, which initially made it difficult to confirm their identities.
Documents Recovered From the Site Assisted Police
Investigators recovered an ATM card bearing Haseena’s name and an RTC parking pass from the location. These documents helped the Railway Police establish the identities of those who died.
After completing initial procedures at the site, the bodies were shifted for post-mortem examination. Police officials also informed the relatives of the deceased about the incident.
Railway Officials Examine Circumstances of Deaths
Samarlakota Railway Circle Inspector Srinivasa Reddy visited Chebrolu railway station and reviewed the situation. He is overseeing the inquiry being conducted by the Railway Police.
Officials said they are looking into every possible aspect of the case. The investigation will examine whether the deaths were the result of an accident or whether any other factors contributed to the incident.
Cause of Incident Yet to Be Established
Police have not reached a final conclusion on how the four people came to be in the path of the train. Statements from available witnesses, station-related details and other evidence are expected to be reviewed as part of the inquiry.
Railway authorities said the exact cause of the incident will be determined only after the investigation and post-mortem formalities are completed. Further details are expected as the probe progresses.
