Crime – Jaunpur Police Solve Woman’s Murder Case Within Fourteen Hours
Crime – Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested a man in connection with the alleged murder of his girlfriend in Jaunpur district. Police said the accused was taken into custody after investigators traced him through surveillance inputs and CCTV footage following the recovery of the woman’s body.

Body Found Near Ranipur Area
According to police officials, the body of an unidentified woman was found near the Ranipur area on July 5 at around 7:30 am. The discovery prompted an immediate investigation, with local police teams working to establish the victim’s identity and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Circle Officer Vijay Chaudhary said the case was cracked within 14 hours of the body being recovered. Officers examined available CCTV footage, checked surveillance records and gathered local information to identify the suspect.
CCTV Footage and Surveillance Lead to Arrest
Police said the accused was located after investigators reviewed camera footage from the area and used technical surveillance to track his movements. He was subsequently arrested and questioned in connection with the case.
Officials alleged that the woman was killed after an argument between the couple. According to the preliminary police account, the accused became angry over the victim speaking with another person. Investigators are examining the sequence of events and collecting evidence to establish the full circumstances of the crime.
Investigation Continues in Jaunpur
Police have not released further details about the victim’s identity or the exact locations where the body parts were allegedly disposed of. Forensic examination and additional questioning are expected to play a key role in the ongoing inquiry.
Authorities said they are continuing to verify statements, examine electronic evidence and review footage from locations linked to the case. The police are also working to determine whether anyone else had knowledge of the alleged crime or assisted the accused.
Similar Case Reported in Agra Earlier This Year
The Jaunpur case comes months after another alleged murder involving a woman was reported in Agra. In January, police arrested a man accused of killing his girlfriend at his workplace and later disposing of her remains in the Yamuna River.
That case came to light on January 24 after police recovered a gunny bag containing human body parts. The victim’s family had filed a missing person complaint a day earlier after she did not return home.
Agra Police Used CCTV to Trace Suspect
Agra Police formed multiple teams to investigate the disappearance and examined CCTV footage from nearby roads and surrounding areas. The footage reportedly showed a man identified as Vinay, who worked with the victim, carrying a sack on the woman’s scooter.
Police later traced and arrested the accused after an intensive search operation. The case highlighted the role of CCTV footage, technical surveillance and coordinated police teams in tracking suspects in serious criminal investigations.
In the Jaunpur matter, police said the investigation remains active and further legal action will depend on evidence gathered during the inquiry. Officials are expected to submit the case details before the court after completing the investigation process.
