Ram Mandir – Trust Meeting Set to Review Resignations and SIT Findings

Ram Mandir –   The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will meet in Ayodhya on July 6 to examine the resignations submitted by General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Dr Anil Mishra. The gathering is also expected to review developments in the Special Investigation Team inquiry linked to alleged issues involving donation collection and the management of the Ram Mandir.

Meeting called for urgent decisions

The meeting has been convened by Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri after receiving approval from Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. The president is currently undergoing treatment in hospital, according to the notice circulated among members.

The Trust said the session was being organised at short notice because several matters require immediate discussion and formal decisions. Members have been asked to attend and participate in the proceedings.

Venue and timing announced

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 pm on July 6 at Mani Ram Das Chhavni in Ayodhya Dham, Uttar Pradesh. The Trust has described the agenda as important for its administrative and financial functioning during the coming period.

One of the main issues before the members will be whether to accept the resignations of Rai and Mishra. Both are associated with key responsibilities in the Trust, which oversees the construction, administration and related affairs of the Ram Mandir.

SIT report to be placed before members

The agenda also includes information related to the interim report prepared by the Special Investigation Team. The inquiry is examining allegations concerning the counting and handling of funds received through donation boxes maintained by the Trust.

Trust members are expected to receive details about the SIT’s findings so far. The notice does not indicate whether the meeting will take any final action on the investigation, but the issue has been listed among the matters requiring discussion.

Financial documents also on agenda

The Trust will also consider its unaudited financial records for the 2025-26 financial year. These documents include the income and expenditure statement, balance sheet and other financial information connected with the Trust’s operations.

The meeting may also discuss future arrangements for temple management. The Trust has not publicly outlined the possible changes under consideration, though the subject has been included in the official agenda.

Resignations received in June

On June 27, Swami Govind Dev Giri confirmed in a formal communication that the Trust had received resignation letters from Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. Their requests will now be taken up before the full body of members.

Under the terms of the Trust deed, resignations cannot be approved through a simple decision by those present. Acceptance requires support from at least two-thirds of the Trust’s members.

Quorum remains a key question

It is not yet known how many members will attend the July 6 session. The number of participants could be significant because the Trust must meet the required quorum and voting threshold before reaching a final decision on the resignations.

The meeting is likely to clarify the Trust’s next administrative steps, including its approach to the resignation requests, financial review and the ongoing SIT inquiry. Any formal resolution will depend on the participation of members and the outcome of discussions held in Ayodhya.
