Two-Day Examination for Government School Teaching Aspirants

The Teacher Eligibility Test will be conducted over two days for applicants seeking teaching positions in government schools across Tamil Nadu. The examination is an important requirement for candidates aiming to enter the state school education system.

Paper I has been arranged for those applying for secondary grade teacher positions. According to the Teachers Recruitment Board, 61,386 candidates are expected to take the paper at 222 examination centres.

Paper II will be held for candidates aspiring to become graduate teachers. A total of 1,67,743 applicants have registered for this paper, which will be conducted at 613 centres in different parts of the state.

Senior Education Officials Assigned Monitoring Responsibilities

The board has deployed district-level officers to supervise the conduct of the examination and review arrangements at centres. Officials holding the rank of Director, Joint Director and Deputy Director in the School Education Department have been appointed as District Monitoring Officers.

These officers will oversee centre management, inspect compliance with examination procedures and coordinate with local authorities where required. The arrangement has been made to ensure that instructions issued by the board are followed uniformly across all districts.

Candidates Must Reach Centres Before the Entry Deadline

The Teachers Recruitment Board has issued clear directions on reporting time for all registered candidates. Applicants must arrive at their assigned examination centre between 8.30 am and 9.30 am.

Entry will not be allowed after 9.30 am, regardless of the reason for the delay. Candidates have therefore been advised to check their centre location in advance and make travel arrangements that allow sufficient time for verification and security checks.

Restrictions on Footwear, Watches and Electronic Devices

Several items have been barred from examination halls under the revised security rules. Candidates will not be allowed to wear belts, shoes, high-heeled footwear or digital watches inside the test venue.

Mobile phones, electronic devices, microphones and communication equipment have also been prohibited. The board said these restrictions are part of efforts to reduce the possibility of malpractice and maintain the integrity of the examination process.

Candidates may be required to undergo checks before entering the hall. They have been asked to avoid carrying any item that could lead to delays during screening or create issues at the examination centre.

Malpractice May Lead to Immediate Disqualification

The board has cautioned candidates against violating the rules or attempting to use unfair means during the test. Any applicant found carrying prohibited items or involved in misconduct may be disqualified immediately.

Officials have appealed to candidates to read the examination instructions carefully and cooperate with staff at the centres. With more than two lakh candidates expected to appear for both papers, the board has stressed the need for timely reporting and full compliance with security requirements.
