Celebrity memories from classic Bollywood films continue to draw audience interest –

Crowd Reacts During Jaipur Fort Shoot

Ameesha shared the incident while appearing as a special guest on India’s Best Dancer Season 5. She was speaking about the climax sequence of the 2002 thriller Humraaz, which was filmed at Jaipur Fort with Bobby Deol.

According to the actor, a large crowd had gathered near the location as the production prepared to film a key scene. Bobby’s character was supposed to approach and hug her when the director called for action. However, some people in the audience began shouting and asked him not to touch her.

The crowd, she said, still associated her closely with Sakeena, the character she played opposite Sunny Deol in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Fans reportedly referred to Tara Singh, Sunny’s character in the film, and treated the on-screen relationship as though it were real.

Film Unit Completes the Scene Calmly

Ameesha said the cast and crew tried to explain that they were shooting a different film and that the moment was part of the script. The situation was handled carefully, with the team ensuring that the gathered audience was not offended.

After the crowd was moved away from the shooting area, the makers completed the sequence. Ameesha described the episode as a memorable example of how deeply Gadar had connected with viewers.

She also spoke warmly about her experience of working with the Deol family. The actor said she had always enjoyed collaborating with them and described them as kind and pleasant colleagues.

Humraaz Remains a Familiar Thriller for Viewers

Directed by Abbas-Mustan, Humraaz was released in 2002 and featured Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles. The film also included Johnny Lever and Suhasini Mulay in important parts.

The suspense drama became known for its twists, performances and music. Several tracks from its soundtrack, including Bardasht Nahi Kar Sakta and Aankhein Band Karke, gained wide popularity after the release and remain familiar to many Hindi film music listeners.

The film arrived at a time when Ameesha was already receiving major attention following the success of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Released a year earlier, the Anil Sharma-directed period drama paired her with Sunny Deol and became one of the most successful films of its era.

Gadar’s Popularity Shaped Ameesha’s Screen Image

In Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Ameesha played Sakeena, while Sunny Deol portrayed Tara Singh. Their characters and the film’s emotional storyline found a strong response among audiences across India. The public attachment to the pair was so intense that it continued to influence how some fans viewed Ameesha during later projects, including Humraaz.

More than two decades later, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel reunited for Gadar 2. The sequel also performed strongly at the box office, reviving interest in the characters and the original film’s legacy.

Ameesha’s recollection from the Humraaz set highlights how audience affection for popular screen characters can sometimes extend beyond cinema halls and reach real-life film locations.
