Ketan Agarwal Murder Case – Police Question Classmate Over Alleged Prior Knowledge
Ketan Agarwal Murder Case – The investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal has taken a new direction after Pune Rural Police began questioning a classmate of accused Chetan Chaudhary. Police are examining allegations that the student may have been told about the alleged plan before the crime took place.

Claims of discussion before Lohagad Fort visit
Sources familiar with the investigation said Chetan Chaudhary and co-accused Siya Goyal allegedly spoke about harming Ketan Agarwal in front of the classmate before the incident. The two were also said to have asked him to join them for a visit to Lohagad Fort on June 18, the date linked to the case.
The classmate reportedly did not accompany them. Investigators are now seeking to establish whether he understood the seriousness of the alleged conversation and whether he had any information that could have prevented the incident.
Police assess whether information was withheld
Pune Rural Police are focusing on whether the young man had advance knowledge of the alleged conspiracy and, if so, why the matter was not reported to family members, authorities or anyone else. Officials are also examining whether his involvement was limited to hearing about the alleged plan or whether he had any connection to events surrounding the case.
Police have not identified the classmate as an accused. His role is being assessed through questioning and verification of the available evidence.
Digital records under scrutiny
Investigators are reviewing phone records, messages, location data and other electronic material connected to the accused and the classmate. According to sources, the student had remained in regular contact with Chetan Chaudhary since the final week of May.
Police are working to prepare a detailed timeline of calls, chats and meetings between the individuals. This review is expected to help investigators determine when the alleged plan was discussed and whether any communication took place before or after the incident.
Meeting and phone call being verified
Sources said Chetan Chaudhary allegedly met the classmate soon after the incident. Siya Goyal is also believed to have spoken with him by phone later. Investigators are checking the details of these interactions to understand what was discussed.
Police are examining whether the conversations involved information about the alleged murder, an attempt to seek help, or any discussion connected with the events at Lohagad Fort. The contents of the calls and messages will be compared with statements recorded during the investigation.
Claim of warning also under examination
Sources have claimed that the classmate advised Chetan Chaudhary and Siya Goyal against taking any extreme action when the alleged plan was discussed. However, police are treating this as a claim that still requires verification.
Investigators will compare the student’s statement with digital evidence, witness accounts and other material collected in the case. Any discrepancy between the available records and the version provided during questioning may become important as the inquiry progresses.
Statement to guide next police action
The young man continues to be questioned by Pune Rural Police as officers attempt to determine how much he knew and why he remained in contact with the accused after the incident. His statement will be assessed alongside call detail records, chat histories and location information.
Police have not announced any further action against him at this stage. Officials are expected to decide on the next steps only after completing verification of the evidence and establishing the full sequence of events in the Ketan Agarwal murder case.
