Andhra Pradesh – Hero MotoCorp Expands Tirupati Presence With New Parts Centre
Andhra Pradesh – Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said Andhra Pradesh is strengthening its position as a preferred destination for industrial investment, as he assured Hero MotoCorp of continued government support for its manufacturing and business expansion in the state.

Hero MotoCorp Global Parts Centre 2.0 Foundation Laid
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for Hero MotoCorp’s Global Parts Centre 2.0 at Madannapalem village in Varadaiahpalem mandal of Tirupati district. The new facility is planned with an investment of Rs 750 crore and is expected to support the company’s expanding supply chain and manufacturing operations.
The event coincided with the 103rd birth anniversary of Hero MotoCorp founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal. Naidu paid tribute to the late industrialist, describing him as a figure whose contribution extended beyond business and helped shape India’s manufacturing journey.
Tirupati Plant Emerges as Major Manufacturing Hub
Recalling his association with the Munjal family, Naidu said he had encouraged the company to establish its production base in Andhra Pradesh. Hero MotoCorp began operations at its Tirupati manufacturing plant in 2018, and the facility has since developed into one of the company’s key production centres.
The Chief Minister said the proposed expansion would further deepen Hero MotoCorp’s presence in the state. He noted that the company’s broader investment plans, estimated at Rs 3,200 crore, could strengthen the local industrial network and support employment over the long term.
Focus on Green Energy and Electric Mobility
Naidu said Andhra Pradesh has advantages in logistics, renewable energy, industrial infrastructure and skilled manpower. He said these factors were helping the state attract manufacturing companies seeking reliable infrastructure and faster project execution.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s plans in clean energy and electric mobility. According to him, Andhra Pradesh is expected to account for 160 GW of India’s proposed 500 GW green energy capacity. He said the state is preparing to support electric vehicle manufacturing through dependable power supply, water availability, transport connectivity and streamlined approvals.
Investment Commitments and Job Potential
Highlighting recent investment activity, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh attracted nearly one-fourth of India’s total investments during the past year. Over the last two years, the state has received investment commitments exceeding Rs 20 lakh crore.
Projects worth around Rs 11.72 lakh crore have already received approvals, he said, with the potential to create more than 10.32 lakh jobs. Naidu added that the government tracks committed projects closely and works with investors to address implementation issues without delay.
He also pointed to Andhra Pradesh’s 1,000-km coastline, growing port network, national highways, railway links, airports and land policies as key strengths for industry. The government, he said, is now placing greater emphasis on “Speed of Doing Business” alongside ease of doing business.
Hero MotoCorp Marks Founder’s Legacy
Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Dr. Pawan Munjal said the launch of the second Global Parts Centre in Tirupati was dedicated to Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal’s 103rd birth anniversary.
He said the company has remained the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer for 25 consecutive years since 2001. Hero MotoCorp’s annual production rose from 4.9 million vehicles in FY22 to more than 6.5 million units in FY26, he added.
Munjal said the company has invested over Rs 1,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh since opening the Tirupati plant in 2018. The facility has also crossed the milestone of producing its one millionth vehicle, reflecting its growing role in Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing network.
