Employment – Andhra Pradesh Skill Mission Supports Candidates Heading to Italy Jobs
Employment – A group of eight candidates selected for employment in Italy through a joint overseas placement initiative visited the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) headquarters in Vijayawada on Tuesday. The visit marked an important milestone before their departure, as the candidates met senior officials and shared their experiences from the recruitment process. The initiative was carried out with the support of APSSDC and Overseas Manpower Company Andhra Pradesh Limited (OMCAP), which worked together to facilitate international job opportunities for skilled individuals from the state.

Candidates Thank Officials for Continuous Support
During the interaction, the selected candidates met APSSDC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer G. Ganesh Kumar along with Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRT) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vemuri Ravi Kumar. They expressed appreciation for the assistance provided throughout the recruitment journey, describing the guidance from both organizations as valuable from the application stage to the final selection process.
The candidates said the support they received helped them understand every step involved in securing overseas employment. They also acknowledged the efforts made to ensure that the entire process remained transparent, organized, and focused on preparing them for opportunities outside India.
Training Focused on Life and Work in Italy
Before their planned departure, OMCAP organized a detailed Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) programme for all selected candidates. The sessions were designed to prepare participants for professional and personal life in Italy by introducing them to important aspects of the country’s working environment and daily lifestyle.
The orientation covered practical topics that overseas employees are likely to encounter after arrival. These included workplace expectations, cultural awareness, communication practices, and essential information to help them adjust smoothly to a new environment. Officials said the objective of the programme was to ensure that every candidate travels with confidence and is ready to begin employment without unnecessary challenges.
Overseas Placement Initiative Continues to Expand
Officials highlighted that international employment programmes have become an important avenue for skilled youth seeking better career prospects. Through collaborations between APSSDC and OMCAP, eligible candidates are connected with verified employers abroad while receiving structured guidance throughout the recruitment and relocation process.
The initiative also places emphasis on preparing candidates beyond job selection by equipping them with the knowledge needed to adapt successfully in another country. This approach is intended to improve both professional performance and personal well-being after relocation.
Strengthening Global Career Opportunities
The visit reflected the growing focus of Andhra Pradesh on creating overseas employment pathways for its skilled workforce. By combining skill development with international placement support, the state aims to help qualified candidates access career opportunities in foreign countries while ensuring they are adequately prepared before departure.
Officials noted that such programmes not only benefit individual candidates but also strengthen the state’s reputation for producing a skilled workforce capable of meeting international employment standards. With structured training, counselling, and coordinated placement efforts, APSSDC and OMCAP continue to support aspiring professionals looking to build successful careers abroad.
