Road Accident – Four Rajasthan Pilgrims Die After Tempo Traveller Hits Parked Truck
Road Accident – Four people from Rajasthan lost their lives while seven others sustained injuries in a devastating road accident on the Bathinda-Dabwali National Highway in Punjab during the early hours of Wednesday. The victims were travelling on a religious pilgrimage to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the Amarnath shrine in Jammu and Kashmir when their vehicle met with the tragic accident.

According to preliminary information, the group was travelling in a Tempo Traveller when it rammed into a truck that had reportedly been parked along the roadside near the villages of Gurusar Sainewala and Jodhpur Romana on the Amritsar-Jamnagar Highway. The collision was extremely forceful, leaving the passenger vehicle badly crushed and causing heavy casualties at the scene.
Emergency responders and local residents rushed to assist those trapped inside the damaged vehicle. The injured passengers were pulled from the wreckage and taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Using three ambulances, volunteers transported the injured to hospitals while also shifting the deceased. Three bodies were taken to the Civil Hospital in Bathinda, while another victim was sent to AIIMS Bathinda for further procedures. Medical teams attended to the injured, several of whom were reported to have suffered serious injuries.
Victims Identified as Residents of Rajasthan
Police later confirmed the identities of the four deceased after examining their Aadhaar cards. The victims were identified as Mahinder Kumar, his wife Manisha, Pankaj, and his wife Dimple. All four were residents of Balotra district in Rajasthan.
Authorities said the group had set out on a religious journey to offer prayers at two of the country’s most visited pilgrimage destinations. Their trip ended in tragedy before they could reach their first destination.
Police Begin Investigation Into Accident
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision. Officials are examining whether factors such as the position of the parked truck, road visibility, lighting conditions, or driver-related issues contributed to the accident.
Investigators are also gathering statements from survivors and other witnesses to establish a complete sequence of events. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
Road accidents involving parked heavy vehicles continue to raise concerns about highway safety, particularly during night and early morning hours when visibility is reduced. Authorities are expected to review the available evidence before releasing a detailed report on the incident.
