Emergency Teams Respond During Early Morning Hours
Officials said the incident came to light after an emergency call was received shortly after 1 a.m. The caller informed authorities that a man travelling on a scooter had allegedly stopped on the DND Flyway before entering the Yamuna River.
Personnel from the Delhi Fire Services rushed to the location soon after the alert. On reaching the flyway, responders discovered a scooter parked near the reported spot. During the initial inspection, the man’s clothes and mobile phone were also recovered, strengthening concerns that he had entered the river.

NDRF Launches Extensive Search Operation
Following the emergency alert, the National Disaster Response Force joined the operation with trained divers and rescue personnel. Teams have been conducting an extensive search across different sections of the river in an effort to locate the missing man.
NDRF Inspector Praful Kumar said the force received information from the control room during the early hours of Monday and immediately activated its response unit. According to him, local police informed the agency about the incident before the rescue teams were dispatched from the Dwarka battalion.
Rescue personnel reached the site within a short time and began coordinated operations alongside the Delhi Fire Services. Divers have continued scanning the river from multiple directions using specialized search techniques.

Officials confirmed that Sharma’s family members reached the location after being informed about the incident. They have remained present while rescue workers continue their efforts along the riverbank.
The operation involves close coordination between the Delhi Fire Services, the National Disaster Response Force and local police officials. Search teams are using available resources to examine different stretches of the river where the missing man could potentially be located.
Investigation Continues as Search Remains Unsuccessful
Despite several hours of continuous rescue efforts, authorities had not found any trace of Sharma at the time this report was prepared. Officials said the search would continue until all possible areas had been thoroughly examined.
Investigators are also collecting information that may help establish the events leading up to the incident. At present, officials have not released any additional findings regarding the circumstances surrounding the case.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation while emergency teams carry on with the rescue operation. More information is expected once the search progresses or investigators complete further verification of the available evidence.
