SuriyaFilm – Debate Over Credit Omission Sparks Discussion Around Equal Recognition

SuriyaFilm –  A discussion around equal recognition in the film industry has gained attention after actress Sanam Shetty questioned the absence of actress Mamitha Baiju’s name from a promotional poster released for the upcoming film Vishwanath & Sons. The issue surfaced shortly after the makers unveiled the first single from the film, Pattampoochi, prompting conversations about fair representation of actors in movie promotions.

Suriya film credit omission equal recognition debate

Concern Raised Over Promotional Poster

The makers of Vishwanath & Sons released the poster for the film’s first song on Friday. While the promotional artwork featured the names of several key contributors, including lead actor Suriya, actress Mamitha Baiju’s name was missing despite her playing the female lead in the project.

Reacting to the omission, Sanam Shetty expressed her disappointment on social media. Referring to a post shared by Mamitha Baiju, she questioned why the lead actress had not been acknowledged in the same manner as other principal members associated with the film.

Call for Equal Recognition in Cinema

Sanam Shetty argued that performers deserve equal visibility regardless of gender. She stated that Mamitha Baiju had earned her place through talent and hard work, making her inclusion in major productions possible. According to Shetty, recognition should not depend on an actor’s experience level, as every lead performer deserves proper credit in promotional material.

She further emphasized that the cinema industry should gradually move toward more balanced and inclusive practices, particularly when it comes to acknowledging female artists and their contributions.

First Song Released Ahead of Film Launch

The discussion emerged on the same day the film’s first track, Pattampoochi, was officially released. Sharing the song with his followers, Suriya described the first single as a special milestone for the project.

The song has been composed by music director G. V. Prakash Kumar and sung by Subhalashini. Lyrics for the track have been written by Arunraja Kamaraj along with Ramjowrites. The release received a positive response from fans who have been eagerly awaiting updates from the film.

Strong Expectations Surround the Family Entertainer

Directed by Venky Atluri, Vishwanath & Sons is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14. The film is being produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya and is positioned as a family-oriented entertainer blending emotions, humor and heartfelt relationships.

Interest in the project has remained high ever since the teaser was unveiled. The preview introduced viewers to Sanjay Vishwanath, an international pistol shooter who continues pursuing his ambitions well into his forties.

Teaser Highlights Emotional and Family Themes

The teaser showcased Suriya in a character layered with emotional depth and maturity. His performance appeared to combine warmth, determination and family values, elements that have often resonated strongly with audiences throughout his career.

Mamitha Baiju also featured prominently in the teaser, bringing youthful energy and charm to the narrative. The promotional footage suggested the possibility of an unconventional romance involving a significant age difference, though the story is expected to approach the subject with sensitivity and emotional balance.

Experienced Cast and Technical Team

Apart from Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, the film includes notable performances from Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in important roles.

The technical crew features cinematographer Nimish Ravi and editor Navin Nooli. Distribution responsibilities in Tamil Nadu have been entrusted to Think Studios, which is expected to ensure a wide theatrical reach across the region.

As anticipation builds ahead of the August release, the conversation sparked by Sanam Shetty’s comments has added another layer of public interest to a film that is already among the most closely watched upcoming releases.
