BJP Rajasthan – Ajaey Kumar Takes Charge in Key Organisational Role

BJP Rajasthan – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a significant organisational change in Rajasthan, appointing Ajaey Kumar as the new State General Secretary (Organisation) for its state unit. The decision was made official on Monday through a notification issued under the authority of the party leadership. The appointment comes at an important time for the Rajasthan BJP as preparations begin for upcoming local-level elections.

Official Appointment Issued by Party Leadership

The formal order was released with approval from BJP’s national leadership and communicated through the party’s central organisation. The announcement coincided with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s visit to New Delhi. Party officials indicated that the appointment has taken immediate effect, filling a position that had remained vacant for more than two years.

Long Association With RSS and BJP Organisation

Ajaey Kumar brings extensive experience in organisational management and cadre development. He began his public service journey as a full-time Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), where he gained substantial experience working closely with grassroots volunteers and local networks.

Before receiving the Rajasthan assignment, he served as State General Secretary (Organisation) in Uttarakhand. His tenure there helped strengthen the party’s organisational structure and expand coordination between different levels of leadership. Prior to Uttarakhand, he worked in western Uttar Pradesh, particularly in the Meerut region, where he handled important organisational responsibilities for the BJP.

Vacancy Existed Since Early 2024

The position became vacant in January 2024 after Chandrashekhar, who was serving as Organisation General Secretary in Rajasthan, was transferred to Telangana. His transfer came after the BJP’s strong electoral performance in Rajasthan, where the party secured a decisive mandate in the Assembly elections.

Since then, discussions had continued within the party regarding a suitable replacement. Party insiders had expected the post to be filled earlier, but the process took longer than anticipated. With local elections expected in the near future, the leadership has now moved to strengthen the party’s organisational machinery across the state.

Chandrashekhar’s Contribution to Rajasthan BJP

Chandrashekhar played an influential role in shaping the BJP’s organisational framework in Rajasthan after taking charge in 2017. Although the party faced defeat in the 2018 Assembly elections, he was credited with rebuilding the organisational network and energising workers throughout the state.

His efforts were reflected in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, when the BJP won all 25 parliamentary seats in Rajasthan. The party later reinforced its political position by returning to power in the 2023 Assembly elections.

Known for maintaining regular communication with grassroots workers, Chandrashekhar was widely respected within party circles. He encouraged active participation from local leaders and focused on identifying emerging talent based on performance and commitment. Several leaders who rose through the party ranks during his tenure are viewed as beneficiaries of his organisational approach, including Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.

Focus on Grassroots Strengthening

Party leaders believe Ajaey Kumar’s experience in organisational work will help further strengthen the BJP’s grassroots presence in Rajasthan. His background in the RSS and previous assignments within the party are expected to assist in improving coordination among workers and expanding organizational outreach.

The appointment is being viewed as part of the BJP’s broader effort to reinforce its internal structure ahead of future electoral challenges. Copies of the official communication have been circulated to senior national office-bearers, state in-charges, state presidents, the Rajasthan Chief Minister, and other key members of the party leadership.
