Accident news up highway crashes

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday expressed sorrow over the deadly road accidents reported from Unnao and Barabanki districts. The Chief Minister reviewed the situation after receiving reports about the incidents and instructed district authorities to ensure immediate assistance for the victims and their families. He also ordered officials to provide proper medical care to those injured in the accidents and directed the administration to arrange compensation for the families of the deceased.

Bus Overturns on Agra-Lucknow Expressway

One of the accidents took place in Unnao district during the early hours of Tuesday when a private bus travelling from Delhi to Bihar lost control and overturned on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Officials confirmed that six people lost their lives in the incident, while many passengers suffered injuries.

According to police officials, the accident occurred near the 262-kilometre point within the limits of the Auras Police Station area. The bus reportedly had more than 30 passengers onboard at the time of the mishap.

Rescue teams and police personnel rushed to the site soon after receiving information about the accident. Authorities stated that five passengers died on the spot after the vehicle overturned, while several others sustained serious injuries after being thrown from the roadway during the crash.

Driver Fatigue Suspected in Crash

Preliminary findings from the police investigation suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving, causing the vehicle to lose balance before overturning on the expressway. Officials said the exact cause of the accident will be confirmed after a detailed inquiry.

The injured passengers were first shifted to nearby medical facilities before critically injured victims were referred to the Lucknow Trauma Centre for advanced treatment. Hospital authorities later confirmed that one injured passenger was declared dead after being brought to the hospital, raising the death toll to six.

Separate Collision in Barabanki Leaves Four Dead

In another tragic incident reported from Barabanki district, four pilgrims lost their lives after the car they were travelling in crashed into the rear side of a trailer on the Sultanpur-Lucknow Expressway.

Officials said the accident occurred near Bhikhra village under the Haidergarh Police Station area at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday. The group was reportedly travelling towards the famous Kainchi Dham temple when the collision took place.

Police officials stated that the impact of the crash was severe, leaving the vehicle badly damaged. Emergency response teams reached the scene shortly after the accident and began rescue operations.

Three injured passengers were initially taken to the Community Health Centre for treatment. Due to the seriousness of their condition, they were later referred to the KGMU Trauma Centre in Lucknow for specialised medical care.

Chief Minister Directs Immediate Administrative Action

Following both incidents, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed senior officials to monitor the relief operations closely and ensure that injured victims receive timely treatment without delay. He also asked district administrations to remain in contact with the affected families and provide all necessary support during the difficult time.

The back-to-back accidents have once again raised concerns over highway safety, driver fatigue, and late-night travel risks on major expressways in Uttar Pradesh. Authorities are continuing investigations into both incidents while rescue and medical teams remain engaged in assisting the victims.
