CrimeWatch – Dacoit Gang Terrorises Villages During Overnight Robbery Spree
CrimeWatch – Panic spread across parts of Uttar Pradesh after a group of armed robbers allegedly stormed several homes in two villages, attacking residents, looting valuables, and leaving multiple people injured during a series of overnight raids.

Families Held Captive During Violent Break-Ins
Police officials said the incidents took place in Mustafabad and Sithauli villages during the early hours of Wednesday. According to investigators, the gang members entered the homes wearing only undergarments, a style often associated with criminal groups attempting to avoid identification and move quickly during attacks.
One of the first targets was the residence of a farmer identified as Nizakat. Authorities said the intruders climbed over the boundary wall before forcing their way inside the house. Family members were allegedly threatened at gunpoint and confined while the robbers searched the property for valuables.
When some residents attempted to resist, the attackers reportedly turned violent. Six people suffered serious injuries during the assault and were later shifted to the district hospital for treatment.
Jewellery and Cash Reportedly Looted
Preliminary police findings suggest the gang escaped with around four tolas of gold, nearly three kilograms of silver, and cash estimated at Rs 1.25 lakh from the house. Officers are still assessing the total losses from the remaining affected homes.
Investigators also revealed a disturbing aspect of the incident. During questioning, family members claimed that some women in the house were beaten after the robbers noticed cooked chicken in the kitchen. The attackers allegedly warned residents against consuming non-vegetarian food and instructed them to eat vegetables instead.
Officials have not yet confirmed the motive behind those remarks, but the statements have added to public concern in the affected villages.
More Homes Targeted in Sithauli Village
After the first robbery, the gang allegedly moved towards Sithauli village, where four additional houses were reportedly looted. Residents told police that jewellery, cash, and household valuables were taken during the raids.
Local villagers accused authorities of reacting slowly despite repeated distress calls during the night. Senior police officials later visited the affected locations following growing tension in the area.
Bareilly Range DIG Ajay Kumar Sahni inspected the crime scenes and directed officers to intensify the investigation. He confirmed that five separate police teams had been formed to identify and arrest those involved in the attacks.
Similar Criminal Pattern Seen Earlier in Delhi
The unusual dressing style and method used by the gang drew comparisons with another recent robbery case reported in Delhi earlier this month. On May 1, a suspected “kachcha-baniyan” gang allegedly broke into a residence in Sarvodaya Enclave in south Delhi.
Police had stated that the accused entered the property by climbing onto a balcony with the help of a tree located near the boundary wall adjoining Vijay Mandal Park. Investigators said the robbers used cutting tools to break the door lock before entering the house.
Residents of that home were reportedly locked inside a room while the gang searched the property for almost an hour. Cash, jewellery, and several expensive items were later reported missing.
CCTV Footage Helped Delhi Police Investigation
According to Delhi Police, CCTV recordings from the house captured three masked men wearing gloves and socks while carrying burglary tools commonly linked to such gangs. The footage later became an important part of the investigation.
A few days after the incident, police claimed to have arrested three suspected members of the gang following an encounter in the Ambedkar Nagar area of the national capital.
Authorities in Uttar Pradesh are now examining whether there could be any connection between the two robbery cases, although no official confirmation has been issued so far.
