First Glimpse Introduces Jr NTR as Deadly Assassin

The newly released teaser presents Jr NTR in the role of Dragon, also known as Luger, the feared assassin-in-chief of the Afghan Trading Company. The story appears to revolve around a large-scale opium trade war involving two rival organisations battling for control over the illegal business.

The video opens with a narration explaining how the British empire initially entered India due to the opium trade and later controlled major cultivation regions connected to Afghanistan and parts of Southeast Asia. After the colonial era ended, several new forces reportedly took over the trade, leading to a fierce struggle between two dominant groups — the Afghan Trading Company and the Golden Triangle.

Jr NTR’s character is portrayed as ruthless and calculating, with the teaser showcasing intense visuals and a commanding screen presence. One of the dialogue moments in the glimpse highlights the violent mindset of his character, further adding to the film’s dark atmosphere.

Supporting Cast and Key Characters Revealed

The teaser also confirms important roles played by senior actors in the film. Veteran actor Anil Kapoor appears as Raghuveer Rathod, the chief of the Narcotics Bureau, while Biju Menon is introduced as Jaleel Rahman, who handles logistics operations linked to Afghanistan.

The visuals suggest that the movie will combine large-scale action with political and criminal elements. The teaser’s gritty tone, heavy background score, and expansive world-building have already generated strong reactions across social media platforms.

Release Date Shifted to Next Year

The film was initially expected to arrive in theatres on June 25 this year. However, the release has now been postponed, with the makers locking June 11 next year as the new release date.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, the project has remained one of the most discussed upcoming Indian films since its announcement. The collaboration between the filmmaker and Jr NTR created significant anticipation among movie audiences, especially after the director’s earlier large-scale action successes.

Fitness Transformation Adds to Fan Excitement

A few days before the teaser launch, Jr NTR had shared a gym photograph on social media that quickly gained attention online. In the image, the actor displayed a muscular transformation, featuring a chiselled physique and strengthened build. Fans widely linked the transformation to his role in Dragon, increasing excitement around the film’s action sequences.

The actor reportedly joined the film’s shooting schedule in April last year. Since then, regular updates surrounding the production have kept audience interest high.

Large-Scale Production Backed by Major Studios

Dragon is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with NTR Arts. The film is jointly backed by Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Hari Krishna Kosaraju.

The glimpse video indicates that the makers are aiming for a visually grand cinematic experience packed with stylised action and emotionally intense storytelling. The background music composed by Ravi Basrur also adds a dramatic layer to the teaser, reinforcing the film’s dark and aggressive tone.

With the title now officially announced and the first glimpse receiving strong attention online, Dragon has quickly become one of the most awaited releases in Indian cinema’s upcoming slate.
