The decision was delivered by the Lokayukta bench headed by Justice Harish Chandra Mishra, which stated that the inquiry failed to establish any violation of ethical standards or public conduct norms by Gupta. According to the order, no material was presented that could prove the former BJP leader had acted improperly while holding public office.

Inquiry Found No Proof of Misconduct

In its observations, the anti-corruption authority said the investigation did not uncover any evidence showing that Gupta had used his position for personal benefit or to secure unlawful gains for others. The order also mentioned that there was no indication of actions that caused unfair hardship or damage to any individual.

The Lokayukta further noted that allegations regarding abuse of authority remained unsupported throughout the proceedings. After examining the complaint and the available records, the authority concluded that there was insufficient material to continue with the matter.

The order stated that nothing substantial had been brought before the panel to justify further legal or administrative action against Gupta.

Allegations Included Luxury Vehicles and Land Encroachment Claims

The complaint against Adesh Gupta included accusations linked to corruption and alleged irregularities involving luxury vehicles. It also referred to claims of encroachment on public land.

However, the Lokayukta observed that no reliable or verifiable evidence was submitted to back these allegations. The authority emphasized that the accusations alone were not enough without documentary support or factual proof.

Officials involved in the process maintained that the inquiry was conducted according to procedure before arriving at the final conclusion. The order ultimately dismissed all claims mentioned in the complaint.

Adesh Gupta Calls Allegations Politically Motivated

Reacting to the ruling, Adesh Gupta said the accusations made against him were politically driven. He stated that the Lokayukta’s decision had reinforced his stand that the allegations lacked truth and substance.

Gupta also expressed confidence in the legal process and said the outcome had cleared his name. The former Delhi BJP chief maintained that the complaint was intended to damage his public image.

The ruling is expected to bring closure to the matter, as the Lokayukta found no grounds for further proceedings after the inquiry. The case had attracted attention due to the corruption-related allegations, but the authority’s findings concluded that no evidence existed to support the claims.
