Admissions – The National Testing Agency has issued the provisional answer key for the NEET UG 2026 examination, giving medical aspirants an opportunity to review responses submitted during the national-level entrance test. The answer keys are now available on the agency’s official portal, while details related to OMR response sheets and the objection submission process will be announced separately.

NEET UG Candidates Await Further Objection Process Details
According to the latest notification issued by the National Testing Agency, students who appeared for the undergraduate medical entrance examination can now access the provisional answer keys online. The examination serves as the primary gateway for admission to MBBS and other undergraduate medical courses across the country.
Officials stated that information regarding the upload of OMR sheets and the procedure for raising objections against any answer will be released in a separate notice. Candidates are expected to receive instructions on the fee structure, timelines, and verification process shortly.
Hotel Management Entrance Exam Answer Keys Also Published
In a separate update, the agency confirmed that provisional answer keys for the Joint Entrance Examination conducted for hotel management admissions have also been uploaded. Candidates who believe there are discrepancies in any response can challenge the answers by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 for each objection raised.
The objection window for this examination will remain open until May 9. After reviewing all challenges submitted by candidates, the agency is expected to release the final answer key and prepare the result accordingly.
NTA Opens CUET City Re-Allocation Facility
The testing agency has also introduced a fresh city re-allocation option for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2026 after receiving a large number of complaints regarding examination centres located far from students’ preferred locations.
Students can now visit the official CUET website and choose available slots in alternate cities. The facility is being provided on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on seat availability at examination centres.
The agency shared helpline support details to assist candidates facing issues during the process. Students may contact the helpdesk through the official telephone number or email support system for guidance related to centre allocation concerns.
Thousands Reported Concerns Over Distant Exam Centres
The National Testing Agency revealed that nearly 15.68 lakh candidates had registered for the CUET examination this year. Among them, approximately 3.4 percent reportedly did not receive examination cities matching their selected preferences.
Several students had earlier raised concerns on social media platforms regarding the long travel distances assigned for their examinations. Many candidates claimed they were allotted centres in cities located hundreds of kilometres away from their homes, leading to logistical and financial difficulties.
Even after the re-allocation announcement, complaints continued to appear on the agency’s official social media accounts, with students requesting quicker solutions and additional nearby centre options.
CUET Scores Accepted by More Than 250 Universities
The Common University Entrance Test remains one of the country’s largest admission examinations for undergraduate programmes. More than 250 universities currently consider CUET scores for admissions.
These institutions include major central universities such as Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University and Aligarh Muslim University. Apart from central universities, several state universities, private institutions and deemed universities also use CUET scores for undergraduate admissions across multiple disciplines.
