According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Subodh Gautam, the complaint regarding the disappearance was registered at Mallawan police station soon after the family alerted authorities. Police launched a search operation and formed two investigation teams to trace the child’s whereabouts.

After several days of search efforts, local police located the child’s body in an agricultural field. Officials stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem analysis to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have not yet disclosed whether foul play is suspected, and senior officers said additional details would be shared once the medical and forensic reports are completed. The case remains under active investigation.

Separate River Tragedy Claims Four Young Lives in Ballia

In another heartbreaking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, four children drowned while bathing in the Ganga River near Shivrampur Ghat in Ballia district earlier this week. Local authorities said the children had reportedly crossed beyond the designated safe bathing zone before the accident occurred.

District officials stated that the incident happened during the morning hours when the group entered deeper waters. Rescue teams were immediately deployed after family members alerted nearby authorities. Search operations led to the recovery of three bodies, while efforts continued for the fourth child for several hours.

Family members who were present at the site described the sequence of events as sudden and chaotic. One relative explained that the children had been taking selfies while bathing in the river. When one child reportedly began struggling in the water, the others attempted to help, resulting in all four being swept away.

Officials Describe Sequence of Events

Ballia District Magistrate Mangla Prasad Singh said the children were believed to have moved nearly 30 to 35 meters into the river, far beyond the safer area prepared for visitors. He added that the riverbank had arrangements for controlled bathing and that boats were available nearby.

The district administration expressed uncertainty about how the children managed to reach such a distance despite safety arrangements in place at the ghat. Officials also noted that water flow conditions were not considered unusually dangerous at the time of the accident.

Authorities believe panic may have contributed to the tragedy after one child slipped or lost balance in the river. Investigators are continuing to speak with witnesses and family members to understand the exact circumstances surrounding the drowning.

Chief Minister Expresses Condolences

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the deaths and offered condolences to the affected families. In a statement shared on social media, he described the loss of lives during selfie and reel activities near the riverbank as deeply painful.

The Chief Minister also prayed for peace for the deceased children and strength for their families during the difficult period. Local administration officials have assured support to the bereaved families while emphasizing the importance of safety precautions near rivers and public water bodies.

Growing Concern Over Child Safety

Both incidents have sparked discussions around child safety, supervision, and public awareness in crowded or potentially hazardous areas. Residents and officials alike have called for stronger preventive measures, particularly near rivers, ghats, and isolated agricultural locations.

Police investigations in Hardoi and administrative inquiries in Ballia are still ongoing, and authorities are expected to release more information after the completion of official reports and examinations.
