Governance – Land Resurvey Initiative Aims to Resolve Disputes and Improve Transparency
Governance – The state government has reiterated its commitment to addressing long-standing land disputes and improving transparency through an extensive resurvey programme, with Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad outlining key steps taken to strengthen land administration.

Distribution of Updated Land Ownership Documents
Speaking at a public gathering in Pudivada village of Nagaram mandal, the Minister handed over newly issued Pattadar Passbooks to farmers. These updated documents, carrying the official Rajmudra seal, were distributed after the completion of the resurvey process in the region. The initiative is aimed at ensuring that rightful landowners receive accurate and verified records of their holdings.
Focus on Resolving Farmers’ Concerns
The Minister explained that after the coalition government assumed office, village-level meetings were conducted across revenue villages to identify and document issues faced by farmers. These consultations helped authorities better understand disputes related to land ownership, boundaries, and records. According to him, the government has simplified procedures and adopted modern systems to reduce complications in accessing land services.
Role of Leadership in Administrative Reforms
Highlighting the broader administrative efforts, Satya Prasad credited Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for introducing technology-driven reforms in land management. He also noted the contributions of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in advancing rural development, and IT Minister Nara Lokesh in promoting education and employment opportunities for young people.
Addressing Petitions and Eliminating Irregularities
More than 2,000 petitions submitted during revenue meetings have been reviewed, with action initiated to resolve many of them. Officials believe that the resurvey process is helping to remove discrepancies in land records, clear encroachments, and provide legally valid ownership documents. The effort is expected to reduce disputes that have persisted for years in several villages.
Introduction of Technology in Land Records
One of the significant changes highlighted during the event was the integration of digital tools into land administration. The new passbooks include QR codes, allowing farmers to access detailed information about their land, including maps and boundary data, through online platforms. Additionally, linking Aadhaar numbers and mobile details to land records is expected to streamline verification and speed up the resolution of issues.
Welfare and Development Initiatives Continue
Despite financial challenges, the government has continued to implement welfare schemes across rural areas. The Minister stated that within 20 months of governance, initial commitments under the ‘Super Six’ framework have expanded into a broader set of programmes, now referred to as ‘Super 18’. These initiatives are intended to improve living standards and provide greater support to rural communities.
Plans for Infrastructure and Employment Growth
The government also announced plans to expand basic services and economic opportunities. Anna Canteens are set to be introduced in villages to provide affordable meals, while new industries are being encouraged to generate local employment. Pudivada village itself is witnessing development works valued at approximately Rs 4 crore, reflecting the focus on grassroots infrastructure.
Officials Oversee Implementation Progress
District Collector V Vinod Kumar and Joint Collector Bhavana Vashishta attended the programme, reviewing revenue records and supervising the distribution of passbooks. The Collector described the Pattadar Passbook as a central element in securing farmers’ land rights, noting that ownership documents are issued only after proper verification and dispute resolution.
Timeline for Completion of Resurvey
According to officials, the district-wide resurvey is expected to conclude by November 2026. The exercise will cover 204 villages, with work already completed in 60 of them. During the event, revenue staff also demonstrated digitised land records, showcasing how technology is being used to modernise administration and improve accessibility for citizens.
