Concerns Over Remarks Targeting Religious Leadership
Speaking in an interview, Palestinian Ambassador Abdullah Abu Shawesh expressed disapproval of recent comments made by former US President Donald Trump regarding Pope Leo XIV. He described the criticism of a prominent religious figure as a troubling sign of weakening respect for global institutions.
According to Shawesh, such remarks reflect a broader decline in adherence to international law and multilateral cooperation. He noted that when influential figures openly criticise global moral authorities, it signals a shift in how diplomatic norms are observed. Questions Raised Over Strait of Hormuz Blockade
