Planned Visit to Key Religious Sites

According to his travel schedule, Singh is expected to land at Ayodhya airport around 9:40 a.m. Following his arrival, he will visit several significant धार्मिक locations, including Hanumangarhi, the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, and Kanak Bhawan, where he will offer prayers.

This visit holds importance as it comes after the completion of major phases of the temple’s construction, which Singh had earlier expressed interest in visiting once the structure was ready.

Political Reactions Intensify

Singh’s visit has reignited political tensions between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. Leaders from both parties have exchanged sharp remarks, questioning the timing and intent behind the visit.

The BJP has criticized Singh, pointing out that he did not attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple despite being invited. Party leaders have suggested that his current visit raises questions about political consistency.

BJP Leaders Target Singh’s Past Stand

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma, known for his criticism of Singh, made pointed remarks ahead of the visit. He urged Singh to pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the events of 1992.

Sharma also stated that if political leaders had recognized the importance of the Ram Temple earlier, its construction might have been completed much sooner. He further remarked that Singh should acknowledge the significance of Lord Ram, especially given past statements attributed to Congress leaders.

Congress Responds to Allegations

In response, Congress leaders defended Singh and dismissed the BJP’s criticism as politically motivated. Party spokesperson Jitendra Mishra said that Singh’s faith and religious beliefs should not be questioned.

Mishra emphasized that Singh has consistently respected Sanatan traditions and does not need to prove his devotion. He also shifted the focus toward governance, asking BJP leaders to explain their work for the public instead of targeting individuals.

Past Contribution to Temple Construction

Singh’s earlier actions related to the Ram Temple have also been highlighted in the debate. In 2021, he contributed Rs 1,11,111 toward the temple’s construction. The donation was made through a cheque addressed to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

At the time, Singh had stated that he would visit Ayodhya to offer prayers once the temple was fully developed, a commitment he appears to be fulfilling now.

Religious Voices Enter the Debate

The discussion has also drawn reactions from religious figures. Mahant Raju Das, a priest at the Hanuman Garhi Temple, commented on the changing political narrative surrounding Lord Ram.

He noted that individuals who had earlier questioned the existence or significance of Lord Ram are now visiting the temple. According to him, the transformation reflects a broader shift in public sentiment and political discourse.

Broader Implications

Singh’s visit comes at a time when religion and politics continue to intersect in India’s public life. While the trip is presented as a personal act of faith, it has taken on political overtones due to past positions and ongoing rivalries between major parties.

As the visit unfolds, it is likely to remain a subject of debate, highlighting the continuing role of religious symbolism in shaping political narratives.
