Elections –  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to visit Vadodara on Monday for a key outreach programme aimed at engaging with tribal communities, as the party accelerates its preparations for upcoming local body elections in Gujarat. Tribal Gathering Draws Focus in Central Gujarat

Gandhi will participate in the Adivasi Samvidhan Adhikar Sammelan, scheduled between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The event is expected to see participation from a large number of tribal representatives coming from various districts across central and eastern parts of Gujarat. The gathering will focus on constitutional rights and issues concerning tribal communities.

According to party leaders, the programme is designed to provide a platform for discussions around social justice, representation, and welfare policies affecting tribal populations. The Congress has been trying to expand its outreach among these communities, which hold electoral significance in several regions of the state.

One-Day Visit with Political Significance

Rajendrakumar Parghi, who heads the Adivasi Congress wing under the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, confirmed that Gandhi’s visit will be limited to a single day. He noted that preparations have been made to accommodate a large turnout at the event, indicating strong mobilisation efforts by local party units.

The visit is not only symbolic but also strategic, as it comes at a time when the Congress is working to re-energise its organisational structure in Gujarat. Over the past year, Gandhi has made multiple visits to the state, signalling a renewed focus on rebuilding the party’s grassroots network.

Review Meeting on Election Preparedness

Apart from attending the tribal conference, Gandhi is expected to hold discussions with senior state leaders. The meeting will likely focus on assessing the party’s readiness for the upcoming local body elections and by-elections.

Sources within the party suggest that the discussions will include reviewing campaign strategies, candidate selection processes, and coordination among various committees formed recently. The leadership aims to streamline efforts and ensure better on-ground execution during the elections.

Congress Forms Key Committees for Strategy

In the lead-up to the elections, the Congress has set up multiple committees at the state level to manage different aspects of its campaign. These include panels dedicated to strategy formulation, campaign execution, election operations, manifesto drafting, and media communication.

Senior leader Bharatsinh Solanki has been entrusted with leading the strategy committee, while Rajya Sabha member Shaktisinh Gohil will oversee campaign-related activities. Another experienced leader, Siddharth Patel, has been given charge of election management responsibilities.

Party insiders indicate that these committees have been assigned clear roles to avoid overlaps and ensure coordinated functioning across districts and local bodies.

Renewed Focus on Gujarat Politics

Gandhi’s continued engagement with Gujarat reflects the Congress party’s attempt to regain political ground in a state that has been a stronghold of the ruling party for years. His repeated visits are part of a long-term plan to rebuild organisational strength and reconnect with voters at the grassroots level.

The Vadodara programme is expected to serve both as a platform for addressing tribal concerns and as a stepping stone for the party’s broader electoral campaign in the state.
