BJP Condemns Incident, Supports Administrative Action

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva strongly criticised the violence and described the killing as a deeply disturbing event. Speaking on Sunday, he said such brutal acts leave lasting pain for families across the city.

Sachdeva also expressed support for the action taken by the Delhi Police and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, which demolished what officials described as an illegally constructed house belonging to the accused family. According to him, firm administrative measures following such incidents send a clear message that acts of violence will not be tolerated.

He further stated that similar extremist acts have previously caused suffering for families in the capital, and the strong response by authorities in this case could deter such crimes in the future.

Chief Minister Calls Murder Shocking and Unacceptable

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had earlier reacted to the incident, condemning the killing and describing it as tragic and unacceptable. She assured that the government would ensure strict action against everyone involved in the crime.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Gupta said that the death of a young man during a festival meant to bring people together had deeply saddened the city. She added that Delhi follows a strict policy against violent crimes and that authorities had been instructed to act quickly.

Gupta also directed law enforcement agencies to identify and arrest all individuals linked to the case and ensure that the investigation proceeds without delay.

AAP Leaders Allege Police Prevented Meeting With Family

The incident has also sparked political disagreement. The Aam Aadmi Party alleged that its leaders were prevented by Delhi Police from meeting the victim’s family in Uttam Nagar.

Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed that when he arrived in the area to offer support to the family of Tarun Kumar, police stopped him from entering the house. According to Bhardwaj, several BJP workers were allowed to go inside during the same time.

In a post on X, he stated that the situation unfolded in the presence of media personnel. Bhardwaj added that the victim’s relatives had raised questions about the police response to the incident and that party leaders wanted to hear their concerns directly.

Clash Reportedly Started Over Balloon During Holi

Preliminary information suggests the dispute began on March 4 during Holi celebrations. Local reports indicate that an argument broke out between groups after a balloon was thrown during the festivities.

What initially appeared to be a minor disagreement soon escalated into a heated confrontation. During the clash, the 25-year-old man, identified as Tarun Kumar, was allegedly assaulted by several individuals.

He later succumbed to his injuries, turning the festive gathering into a tragic incident that shocked residents of the area.

Investigation Continues as Authorities Tighten Action

Police officials are continuing their investigation to determine the sequence of events and identify all those responsible. Authorities have also assured that legal proceedings will follow due process and that no one involved in the violence will escape accountability.

Meanwhile, the case has intensified political debate in the capital, with different parties raising concerns over law enforcement, administrative response, and the safety of citizens during public celebrations.

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and vigilance during large festive gatherings in densely populated urban areas.
