The Delhi Traffic Police announced that special arrangements will remain effective from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, anticipating a surge in visitors and official convoys on the final day of the international gathering. Officials said the measures are intended to prevent congestion and ensure the safety of both attendees and the general public.

Key Roads Under Regulation

According to the advisory, several major roads in central Delhi are likely to witness restrictions during the specified hours. These include Bhairon Road, Bhagwan Dass Road, Purana Qila Road and stretches of Mathura Road near the summit venue.

Motorists have been advised to consider alternative routes to minimize inconvenience. Suggested diversions include Tilak Marg, Sikandra Road and the Ring Road corridor. Traffic personnel will be stationed at strategic junctions to guide commuters and maintain orderly flow.

Authorities emphasized that cooperation from the public will be crucial in preventing unnecessary delays. Drivers have been encouraged to follow lane discipline, adhere to on-ground instructions and allow additional travel time while planning their journeys.

Focus on Public Safety and Smooth Movement

Officials stated that the traffic management strategy has been carefully designed to balance summit security requirements with regular city mobility. With high-level delegates and international participants attending the event, ensuring uninterrupted access and emergency preparedness remains a priority.

The deployment of additional traffic officers and clear route diversions aims to reduce bottlenecks around the venue. Police officials also noted that real-time monitoring will be conducted to respond swiftly to any unexpected congestion.

Global Participation at AI Summit

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 marks a significant moment for the country, as it is the first global artificial intelligence summit hosted in the Global South. The event has drawn policymakers, technology leaders, academic experts and representatives from civil society to New Delhi for discussions on responsible AI development and governance.

Over the course of the summit, participants have examined frameworks to guide ethical and inclusive use of artificial intelligence worldwide. Conversations have centered on how emerging technologies can be aligned with public interest, economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Guiding Principles: People, Planet and Progress

Organizers structured the summit around three foundational pillars referred to as People, Planet and Progress. These principles highlight a commitment to human-focused innovation, sustainable technological expansion and shared economic opportunity.

Under the People pillar, discussions have emphasized safeguarding fundamental rights while ensuring that artificial intelligence systems benefit diverse communities. The Planet theme has addressed environmentally responsible innovation, focusing on reducing the carbon footprint of digital infrastructure. Meanwhile, Progress underscores inclusive development, encouraging equitable access to technological advancements across nations.

High-Level International Presence

The scale of participation reflects the summit’s global importance. Representatives from more than 110 countries and around 30 international organizations attended the event. The gathering included approximately 20 heads of state or government and nearly 45 ministers, underscoring the broad diplomatic and policy interest in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.

As the summit draws to a close, authorities expect traffic movement in central Delhi to gradually normalize after 8:00 PM. Until then, commuters are advised to remain alert to advisories and plan their routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
