Emergency Maintenance on Hetwane Pipeline

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) confirmed that repair work will be carried out on the main Hetwane water pipeline near Belapur. Officials said the shutdown is necessary to address technical concerns in the pipeline and prevent more serious disruptions in the future.

According to the official schedule, the water supply will remain suspended from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Authorities stated that the maintenance is part of a preventive measure aimed at strengthening the supply system before peak demand periods.

Areas to Be Affected

Residents in Kharghar and Taloja will experience a complete halt in water distribution during the shutdown period. The disruption is limited to these two localities, and no other major areas have been listed in the advisory.

Civic officials have clarified that once the repair work is completed, supply will be restored as planned at 9:00 pm on the same day.

Restoration May Begin with Low Pressure

While normal services are expected to resume Friday evening, residents may initially face low water pressure and reduced flow. This is a common occurrence after major pipeline maintenance, as the system gradually regains full operational capacity.

Authorities have assured citizens that teams will be deployed to monitor the restoration process to ensure smooth resumption of services.

Advisory Issued for Residents

Civic officials have urged residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance. Households are advised to store adequate water for essential use during the 12-hour interruption. Citizens have also been requested to use stored water responsibly to avoid inconvenience.

Officials emphasized that the shutdown has been scheduled with prior notice to minimize disruption and allow residents sufficient time to prepare.

The maintenance work on the Hetwane line at Belapur is considered essential to safeguard the water distribution network and avoid unexpected breakdowns in the future. Authorities have reiterated that such preventive repairs are critical to maintaining uninterrupted water supply across Navi Mumbai.

Residents seeking further updates have been advised to follow official civic announcements.
